Here's an interesting promotion: for every 100,000 junk emails sent to nojunk@chipotlejunk.com, Chipotle will donate $10,000 to The Lunch Box, which will help feed school kids with healthy junk-free recipes for lunch, instead of the usual prison cheese and high fructose corn syrup. http://consumerist.com/2010/06/send-junk-email-to-chipotle-feed-children.html So stop deleting your gmail spam and forward it to nojunk@chipotlejunk.com
What is the point of this? Just wondering if there is any benefit for them to be receiving peoples spam lol
From Chipotle We appreciate you sending us your junk mail. We're sending them straight to the trash. But please keep them coming, the more you send, the better school kids will eat. So far, your contribution has helped raise over $331 for The Lunch Box. Sincerely, Your friends at Chipotle PS - If you would like to hear from us occasionally, click on this link.
Just signed them up for pron pron pron.....and how to enlarge.....and medicare scooters.....pills....and passed on some Lottery WInnings from SOuth Africa.
So they're not quite harvesting e-mails...just hoping that people will click the "join our mailing list" link in the Thank You e-mail. I guess their marketing department has done research and discovered it's worth it. I mean, if you get a 1% subscription rate, you're talking about 1,000 people for $10,000. If signing up gets them to spend just $10 more over their lifetime, then it was worth it, right?
