    From sina.com
After the exhibition game between CHINA and USA finished.A chinese reporter asked Yao Ming:What do you feel is your play of the game?
Yao Ming said :Of course my last made.It was occured at about the middle of the third quarter.Hu Weidong called me for screen, and I did it.He passed the ball to me and ran to the baseline(excuse me,did it called :"give-and-go"?My English is not good) . I was at the fouledline and I played a trick as if I wanted to pass the ball back to Hu Weidong. Then I saw Ben Wallace turned his head to Hu.I quickly took a jumper, made it. I looked at Ben's eyes, which like said:"sh#t."Dose it like Magic Johnson?,haha."
Reporter:"Did Rudi Tomjanoivc and you chat with each other after the game?"
Ming:"No,when the game finished,he ran away.I think his speed is very good because finally no journalists catch up with him,Hehe. Before the game started he had told me that he would back to Houston first, and go to Indianapolis on 28th,then watch Chinese NT play."

Misleading headline. Yao Ming only said his faking to pass then take the jumper in his face in that give-and-go play is a bit magic johnson-ish. Please don't blow things out of proportion. (BTW, that's a bad habit of Chinese media)

    Thanks for the story anyway.

Ming really does have a nice sense of humor. His joke about Rudy was funny. I really like his attitude and i think it will help the whole team.

    :D :D :D :D :D

I don't think he'll give you one...in fact, I'm almost certain this guy is just putting on an act...pretending to have trouble speaking english. Its seems too fishy...his English is good(and unusually casual) in one sentence, then he messes up the English very noticeably in the next one. whatever...

The link for the original article in chinese:

    http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2002-08-26/1020305633.shtml

There is also a much more interesting piece with Yao Ming's own comments regarding each of those 6 blocks he had. It's a relatively long article and let's get someone to translate it.

    http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2002-08-26/1029305646.shtml

In one tidbit Yao Ming mentioned that he heard the rumor that A. Davis was gonna "introduce him to the nba". So he was determined to swap away davis's dunk attemp as his response. He injured his finger in the process. (couldn't even hold a fist, and didn't score a point since). He said it is worth it.

Interesting article. Someone please translate it.

Yeah, it's very important to take things that Yao says *with a grain of salt.*
Yao is very sincere. Sometimes his serious and sometimes he's just joking.

At times, he seems like a "Dreamer." Which is good. He really wants
to be the BEST, and believes with hard work HE CAN BE!

At times he can speak with the innocence of a child and other times
with the wisdom of a old man.

You gotta love a guy like that.
