It killed me to hear fellow fans dissing Francis. He just wanted to know the direction of the team before he inked for 6 years. Six years is a long time if you're unhappy with the organization you work for. I hope some of you have cut him some slack since the signing.

As you request don grahamleone, I will not trade the Franchis. This favor I will do for you. You go on and lead your life but one day I may call on you for a favor. Until then enjoy your life.

Brilliant talent and great chemistry, that's what he offers. Realistically I would be hard pressed to determine which is the most important.

Steve is the most athletic PG along with Gary Payton the league has ever seen and could one day easily eclipse the glove in terms of accomplishment. Obviously is being surrounded with better talent at a younger age.

Nope, wouldn't do it. Not now. Had a moment of weakness or two before I saw the video clips of Yao. There were some wild trade ideas flying around here. (And will be forever and ever, or until Clutch throws up his hands and... nevermind. :p) But now I'm convinced we should just stand pat. And pray for healthy players. I keep imagining double teams thrown at Steve, thrown at Cat, thrown at Yao... man, I think we're going to score points in bunches and drive the other teams crazy. I keep thinking Dallas, but with Yao and Griff. We will be REALLY good.

(4chuckie, your right. I guess you never say never. ;))

You must have a very short memory. Think back a few years to Magic Johnson. No way anyone in their right minds would compare the athletic ability of Magic (a PF in a PGs body) to Steve or Payton.

Oh 4Chuckie! You were right when you said a PF in a PG's body because Magic moved very awkwardly and never had any showtime dunks or ankle breakers. He rebounded well because he was tall, he passed well because he had amazing vision and he scored because he had a jump shot and a hook shot and a finger roll.

Athletism is not something Magic or Bird was known for. It is something Jordan or Pippen were known for. I am talking about Steve's combination of speed, hops, coordination and strength. Steve could play several different sports if he wanted, like jordan and payton. But Magic would be hard pressed to excel at anything except his game.

    LeGrouper-
An athlete can do many things well. Granted Franchise has a better vertical, but as far as a better athlete I would take Magic anytime. Magic was definetely bigger and stronger. Steve may be quicker but I have never saw either's 40 time (or 1/4 mike time) to say who was faster.
So I stand by my point Magic was a better athlete than Stevie.

Also I really disagree that Stevie could play sever different sports (or at least several different sports well). Stevie don't know BO!

Remember when the bulls put Pippen on Johnson in the Bulls first Championship. Pippen totally shut down Magic and Magic was in his prime. Pip's athletism and only two inch height disadvantage prevented Magic from being able to use his normal size advantage to pass over PGs. The bulls did that because they knew Magic was so slow he would never blow by Pip. However Pip would never be put on Steve or Gary because he would get beaten off the dribble. Oh.....this is one of those stupid sport fanatic conversations. I concede.
