If Patrick can play the SF position, I may turn out to be a good pick...

    Bench:
    Lowry
    Budinger
    Patterson
    Hill
    ?(2nd rounder: Alabi, Whiteside, etc)

Can you name these good center prospects? I mean, the next center picked after Patterson was Orton at 29, and good god he was a moron in that interview. Alabi and Whiteside still haven't been picked. It is very possible that they could be worse than Patterson. Would you prefer picking them just because they were tall, even if they are probably total stiffs?

We will make trades, and buy Whiteside pick

About the undersized factor, I prefer having undersized true professional players, then tall lazy players, but that is just me, and DM

    IN MOREY I TRUST

That never happens on draft night around here...

    That's sarcasm, by the way...

Agree but there didn't appear to be any really good big men left so they went with the guy who was tops on their board. I simply cannot argue with that approach. But you are 100% correct: he is undersized for what they need. It looks like Morey replaced Landry which to me is not moving forward. But this was what I figured would happen once I saw they couldn't make a move into the top 5. It is what it is.

Without Yao we won't compete with the Lakers anyway.

6'9 with a 7'1 wingspan is NOT undersized, that is almost the ideal PF size. It is 2 inches taller than Landry and has the wingspan of a center. I don't get what is the problem here. Not to mention he can step out and hit the 3 pointer, seem like a pretty nice pick to me.

He's compares to Landry but is taller. He will need to bulk up a bit but he's a much better defender and he plays smart.

    Pattrick Patterson
    6'9.25" in shoes
    8'11" standing reach
    33.5" max vert

    Carl Landry
    6'8.5" in shoes
    8'6.5" standing reach
    36.5" max vert

My guess is Hill. In that video someone posted earlier of our trainer talking to him after he was drafted, I don't think the place went crazy just so they could trade him.

What a center for this team? get through free agency or trade. No center left in this draft can step up immediately to be better than Hayes or Jeffries, they need at least a couple years to develop. With Patterson, all front players can be traded and Rockets can still have enough big bodies.

Always pick the best player availabe at #14 instead of worrying about team's needs.

I guess it all depends on a guy's skill set and hustle on the defensive end. Size is important, but a 7 foot guy who won't play hard is useless.....
