    You must be kidding?
WE must have a back up center to play behind Yao Ming.
Chuck is about the right size for a Shooting Guard.
Overall the Rockets are a small team................ :p

I like Patterson dont get me wrong but if your looking at the roster NOW. Once Yao goes off the floor we are undersized

The Rockets draft picks have almost always been head scratchers. No exception. Undersized power forward, hmmmmmmm? And he was sixth on their chart, hmmmmmmm?

Sorry if this is too much trouble, but does anyone know how many people we have on the roster now, including Patterson?

I'm thinking Harris is obviously going to be dropped soon, which sucks cause I've always liked him.

Didn't morey say last year before that he'd go with an undersized , but more talented big, than a taller stiff? Not just about this draft, but in general? We shouldnt be suprised.

The point I was trying to make is that I don't believe that 6'9 is undersized for a PF.

To answer your question of who we will have on the floor against the Laker front court. Hopefully we will have a healthier 7'6 Yao and hopefully one more athletic PF/C acquired either through the draft or FA. Also, as far as Gasol is concerned, I'm content with putting Hayes on him.

Yeah.....and that Orton guy won't play real NBA minutes until 2012. We need someone who can play NOW! Patterson can, and I can live with that. And Jay Bilas just said that Orton is not better than Randolph Morris.....a guy who has not been able to crack the rotation ANYWHERE in his 5 year "career".

I don't consider him undersized for a 4, but undersized for what we need, which is a long, tall, athletic, weakside shotblocking 5/4 to take minutes from, hopefully, a healthy Yao, and to eat his minutes if Yao is slow coming back.

    He's a true 6'9, with a 7'1 wing-span and a mature, strong body. And he's 21.

    To me, that's not undersized.

Amen. The Rockets got someone who HAS been PRODUCTIVE. Everyone else is mostly taking someone with POTENTIAL. So it seems like the Rockets went against everything the reporters were saying lately about how we'd take someone with the most updside, and that's not to say he can't continue to get better.

And other than Hakeem, which of those players were pegged for defensive dominance coming into the draft?

There's a knock on his defensive rebounding and defense, from what I hear.
