    something fishy about sighning.

The franchise signs right AFTER Yao Mings first exhibition game. He waited to see how good this guy is before he signed. I say if he(Yao) had a bad exhibition game, the franchise would not have sighned this contract  . Shows his kind of personality. HE probably talked to Baron Davis(his supposed GOOD friend)....and he was prasing Yao after the game so it makes sense.

I'm just saying it was a weird timing by our franchise player. :p

What if Frances' health problems resurface and prevent him from playing, will the Rockets have millions tied up for years?

Vince, this tired subject was discussed relentlessly the past few weeks. The only credit I give them is that that "Steve Bashers" were complaining about a current event.

Now that Steve signed, this topic is a beached whale. Quit trying to push it back out to sea and just let it die the way nature intended.

So now that Steve signed and is praising Yao,even going so far as to want to travel to meet and watch him,....it's still not good enough? Does it really matter WHAT changed his mind about Yao and whether it was related to his signing or is it more important that he IS here long term now and proclaiming that "Eddie,he AND Yao"along with the rest are ready for the big boys.

If Steve can never be good enough for some here, what chance does Yao have of ever quieting his haters? And I guess I must have missed all the Eddie bashing threads,or is he next as well? Now that he's no longer a teenager,do the kid gloves come off for him, too?

I don't believe that Francis had to see Yao play, or even talk to a friend first. Steve is a grown man and he can make up his own mind. Give him some credit.

Nonsense...If Yao had a bad game, it would be just that; a bad game.
If Francis is that shallow, we have bigger problems. He's a player,
he's an athlete. He knows what it's like to have a "bad game."
Francis also has been around the game long enough to recognize
that Yao has skills (from film). In the past, Francis was asked questions off
the cuff regarding Yao (BEFORE Francis had even seen game film on
Yao). He knew nothing about Yao. So, could you blame him for
not saying much about a player you didn't know about?

Imagine if someone came up to you after a workout at WSTC, and shoved
a mic in your face and asked, "What do you think about the Rockets
    drafting Yao Ming, the unknown?"

Francis gave his honest opinion, and I paraphrase, "I not sure about
    Ming."

It was Cat that said pretty much the same thing, except that he threw in
a hint for Lamar Odom, his former college buddy.

So, I don't blame Francis or Mobley for what they said or believed at the
    time about Yao.

Plus, I don't think they spend half the time researching Yao as much a
    the members of clutchcity.net do.

    :D

Is it a coincidence that I find that most of the negative threads are started by non-Rocket fans?

i think it just happened naturally. Maybe he was out of state and needed to take care of something before making a trip to sign.

You'll see the ill affects of the migraines fade away like Vin Diesel's acting career once the season starts. And what are we going to do let Francis go is that what some of you are insisting, brilliant:rolleyes: . Or postpone his contract like Phoenix and Mcdyess, yeah:rolleyes: . Come on people, have your fun with these threads because once the season starts you'll get run out of the forum if you start these again.

I heard the reason he delayed in signing is because he was waiting to hear what all the Steve Haters would say on Clutchcity.net!!!!

Idiots...freakin idiots....I know this is free press and expression, but let's get the Steve Haters their own one subject topic section where they can go off on Steve anytime and keep the board free of this topic. Then, institute a Steve haters rule that says when they post Steve hater messages in any other area on the board, they are banned for one year. This will keep them contained, keep the board free of topics that have been rehashed over and over and keep the board talking about pertinent issues.

    Lol.

In the Chron today, it mentioned that some of the measures to combat the Meniere's Disease that were settled on at the Mayo Clinic were written into Francis' contract. Combining that information with Jeff's more vague, 'It was something but not Yao,' I have to conclude the hold-up had more to do with contractual issues relating to Francis' treatment of his condition than anything else. I also remember a quote from Dawson from when Francis went to the Mayo clinic that said roughly that when you are signing such a big deal, you have to work out the details of the player's health.

I won't argue that Francis wasn't relieved to see Yao Ming block 6 shots by the US Team and push back on our big guys and force double-teams. But, the timing has more to do, I bet, with Meniere's Disease than anything else.

LOL, I laughed out loud after reading this part, good stuff! It doesn't matter, you'll always get threads like this ripping Francis and Mobley. Francis didn't praise Ming so he must be immature, now he praises Ming but he didn't sign fast enough so he MUST be a selfish player who wouldn't sign until Ming played well. Or his migraines could be a problem he isn't worth the money. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Rockets would dump nearly 100 million dollars into a player without checking on his health. Francis looked at a bunch of film, but he wasn't satisfied until he saw and exhibition game? Ok.

I'm a huge rocket fan. Just cause i live in Toronto and like Vince Carter don't make me a "non-Rocket fan".

My point alll along was Franchise's timing of the signing.
The guy's got game. No doubt but, his attitude has been weird since he entered the NBA. I mean the crying about getting picked by Vancouver. I just question the guys attitude not his GAME!!!!

ALL YOU GUYS ARE BIASED FANS....no one in here is realistic....i'm sure i'm gonna have answer's saying i'm not a real fan....but, what do you know!
