Well now that summer is starting to come to an end, what do yall think was the "movie of the summer"?

There were a lot of good ones, but which one was the summer movie. It could be the most anticipated one, the best one, or whatever.

I personally pick Signs b/c I was looking forward to it all Summer and I wasn't disappointed at all when I saw it.

    What do u think??

Spider-Man. Anticipated for a decade(well, by the fanboys at least) and delivered so much more than was expected.

Austin Powers 3. Others may not have liked it, but I thought it was hilarious and it made some serious dough.

Serving Sara. Definitely, best film of the summer.

    (stunned silence)

No, probably Spider-man. You can't really find anything to complain about with that film.

Other movies were good but were missing something. For example, Minority Report and Signs...excellent...until their weak endings. Attack of the Clones saved itself with its last 45 minutes, but was otherwise kinda weak. Etc.

I would have to say Signs or Minority Report. They were both clever and thoughtful, while at the same time providing all of the "bang" that big summer blockbusters should provide!

My actual favorite movie that I've seen during the summer is 24 Hour Party People, but that isn't your typical summer blockbuster movie. A definite must-see for any music freaks out there or anyone who is just interested in the history of popular music. The movie is basically a loose account of Tony Wilson, the guy who is probably most responsible for the eruption of the Machester music scene from the 70s-90s (ie. sex pistols, joy division, new order, happy mondays). The impact this guy had on the music world is pretty amazing.

If they'd have added one African-American eating watermelon, that movie could've been retitled Serving Stereotypes.

My favorite movie of the summer was Minority Report but just picking the movie of the summer I'd go with Spiderman. It lived up to the summer blockbuster hype and it was a good movie as well which seems pretty rare these days.

I watched Spiderman, SW, MIB2, and Signs during the summer, which is a lot for what my family usually watches. I would have to say I like SM the most. I watched a lot of the cartoon on FOX, and really wanted to watch it.

I have to agree with signs and minority report. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. The last have of minority report was brilliant. And everything but the last part of signs was brilliant. I love these films.

Signs is my pick. Awesome movie.

Minority Report, Spiderman and AOTC were close seconds for me.

I'm gonna go with Signs with Minority Report in a VERY close second here.

I really didn't see any movies I hated, the most disappointing were XXX and Mr. Deeds but I didn't hate them nearly as much as some people have.

XXX wouldnt have been bad if the dialogue wasn't so damn corny.
