Rudy for a backup to Martin....not a replacement.

It is a shame, We had Azubuike during the JVG era. Young players didn't fit the JVG mentality

Maybe a straight up trade for Battier for Fernandez and some cash, but Rudy is not worth a flipping first round pick.

And it's possible Whiteside could fall to 22. I would almost do this, since there exists a scenario where I would even consider taking Whiteside at 14.

One must consider that 63% of his shots come from the 3pt line. By taking more three's, this lowers his over all FG %. A 38% 3-point shooter is better than a 50% 2-pt shooter.

Give it up. Whiteside will amount to nothing more than a role player in 5 years.

    I wouldn't mind getting Alibi at 22.

I think historically you can probably say this about 75% of number 14 picks.

Not enough room in the backcourt unless we're moving someone else.

I'd take him for the #14 in a heartbeat. He is way better than any guard we can get at this position

Offensively, but the fact is, Taylor and Budinger both probably are (or will be by 2011) better defenders.

How did you come up with that? Neither player has ever been know for their defensive abilities and all of sudden they're going to turn into good defensive players.

Yes I did. Did I miss a great defensive performance by either of those 2 players? Even if I did, good defense in 1 out of 82 games does not make a player a good defensive player.

Yes, you missed a great defensive performance by JT on Kobe. you said neither have been known for their defensive abilities. that may be true, but JT was not given many opportunities to show what he is capable of.

Fernandez is not a bad defender. I was listening to 1560am this morning and they said he will be an all defensive teamer in the next couple years. He plays passsing lanes well and is a very good perimeter defender. Id say pull the trigger, he is younger and more skilled.

I like Rudy Fernandez, I'm a huge fan of him. Last year, if you would've told me we had a chance of getting him, I would have jumped at the opportunity. Now, not so much. With the additions of budinger, martin and taylor, I feel rudy is no longer needed.

However, I do think that if we get rudy, C-bud will be involved in some other deal.
