Both guys have high draft picks coming with them that make their contracts easier to swallow.

Dude, I am wrong more than once....lol.....

    :)

Honestly though, it just seems that whenever we hear a lot about a player, it is not who Morey is targeting.

In fact, none of the players they have drafted or targeted have been even remotely on target.

It is like they intentionally leak stuff out just as a smoke screen, heck, I would not be surprised if anything they let slip is true.

Morey always does the unexpected....so to me, that means....no Cousins, and they probably don't even want the guy.

In case you are right and none of the reported trades go down for Houston, what would you consider a good consolation draft?

I backup center that has upside, in case Yao can't go, maybe Whiteside....

I trust Morey will do what is right.

I know right, too much noise about it, they probably don't even want Bosh....and are just planting seeds to hide their true intentions.

    Those sneaky sons of guns..

i'll take that a step further and say that i'd make a pretty strong bet that we'll be starting next season with nobody named cousins, bosh, whiteside, or aldrich on the roster.

My thoughts exactly, this is all part of a bigger plan.

I just can't wait to watch all of this unfold.

For some strange reason, Whiteside reminds me of KG, so i see him playing the 4 just as well as the 5. So i was thinking of trying to get him and Alabi on the team. New TWIN TOWERS? Shot-block parties in H-Town!!

pretty much. i don't know if i'd put it all on conspiracy theory, with intentions and such - i just think things move so quickly that by the time we hear about things through all the filters, things have changed and Morey & co. are on to something else.

but yeah, they certainly have a history of smoke with no fire, dont they.

I don't know, not once have any of the players we have heard about predraft been selected.....I take that back maybe Donte Greene.

But none of the others even had a sniff, IIRC.

I have a feeling that all this stuff from the upcoming draft will drag on much, MUCH longer into the off-season.

Well we know Scola and Lowry's deal will go until at least September, Morey will want them to test the market to get the best deal possible.

I expect Scola to get a decent deal above MLE, but I think Lowry will be forced to sign a one year tender because we have Llull waiting in the wings.

I suspect a team like Philly, his hometown, is going to step up and offer Lowry somewhere around $3.5 - $4.5 million over 3-5 years.

Cousins is the best big man in this draft.

I've been preaching it for 2 months now.

I agree with the fact that Morey often surprises us but I don't know if it is always a fact that when we hear of a player a lot that means it is smokescreen. We heard of Amare a lot at the trade deadline and he went for him. We heard of Rubio a lot last draft and we know that we went for him. Both trades didn't cut it for various reasons, but there is nothing to believe that just because we hear of a guy, that means it is smokescreen. It could be that the guys we target as number one also happen to be that hardest to get. You don't really give anything away when you go out and say "yeah we like a consensus top 5 draft player." The real trick is when we hear blips about the under the radar guys, ala Elliot.

disagree. I think they would pay dearly for him, but it just might not be do-able.

We need to pick this guy up for a package involving Jeffries.
