I dont think there's a chance in hell, but im watching ESPN right now with the Draft in NY10 special show and Stewart Scott just mentioned us maybe making a run at Lebron. Lets see what they have to say...
Ok, so here's what they basically reported: They mentioned how a sign and trade with Houston would be good for Cleveland because we have the bundle of assets to start over: Expiring contracts, young talents, draft picks. They mentioned us as a dark horse. Houston has to offer: Shane Battier (expiring 7 Mil), Jared Jefferies (expiring 7 Mil), Aaron Brooks, Future First Round Picks (ours + Knicks future picks). This is what they discussed just now
We're giving up Shane, Jeffries, and Aaron Brooks + The Knicks Picks for Lebron! OMG! Its not even like Stuart Scott specifically went out of his way to mention this was pure speculation based on absolutely ZERO evidence.
lol they said no rumor, no report, nothing like that. Here's an example: Battier Jeffries Brooks Future First Round Picks for LeBron Ok, time to wake up from the dream.
I guarantee you at least one Clutchfan turned to ESPN just at the right moment, saw the trade proposal graphic, had a heart attack and died. Guarantee you. Godspeed.
JFC. You're watching ESPN "analysts" talk. Stupid thread, stupid 3 minutes of my life wasted on watching the same stuff you are. Sweet "dreams".
First to Post: Won't happen, God please make a thread about us getting Nash, Kobe, Lebron and Dwight Howard this offseason while ONLY giving up Chuck Hayes.
ESPN putting a "capologist" on to discuss these things is GOLDEN. This is Tom Penn from ex-Blazers. He was just explaining HOW a team could put together a good S&T offer for LeBron. A "similar" offer will be given to Toronto for Bosh. ;-) ESPN needs to keep this guy on for more air-time.
Wow, you are the only person today to create a thread about this, good job! LeBron to Houston is about as probable as me to Houston. Just because I photoshop myself into a Rockets uniform and somehow steal Yao's number does not mean it's gonna happen. However, in keeping with the spirit of this thread let's pretend it does. LeBron, The Alan Show and Yao = the team of Destiny!!!
To me, this is a more realistic trade: Cavs get: Yao Ming Kevin Martin Luis Scola Shane Battier Aaron Brooks Daryl Morey Rick Adelman Rockets get: Lebron James
I say no way in hell does he come here but I honestly think we are the 3rd best place for him. I put Miami #1 now that they have space for him, Wade and another max guy (Bosh?)? I put Chicago #2 since they can bring him and another max guy in to pair with Rose and Noah (someone would take a slight paycut though). I put us #3 because of the Yao factor and we wouldn't have to gut our team. A core of Yao/Scola/Ariza/Martin/LeBron is very nice. Yes, I put him at PG. Sign Shaq to ring chase, and Lowry and you are good to go.
Hah, getting Lebron does seem like a Morey move right? Its probably the last thing you would expect. I don't know, I have a feeling we're in for something BIG.
The only reason it wouldn't happen is becaues Lebron doesn't want to come here. Obviously this team is stacked with trade assets and if Lebron was open to going to ANY team by SnT, we'd be a major contender. But yes, Lebron has given no hints he'd like to play here like he has for New York, Chicago, Cleveland.
