Job Responsibilities As an infrastructure engineer, you will be responsible for supporting iand’s Cloud Data Center operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining large production systems for our customers, and providing top level system support for Data Center issues. This means having in depth knowledge of virtualization, networking, routing, security, data center operations, and hardware such as servers, switches, firewalls and SAN’s. Main responsibilities will include: - Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of virtual infrastructure - Maintain high level systems and network documentation - Provide deployment and virtual environment support - Proactively monitor all company production systems and assist with reporting on operational metrics - Ensure that the company information security policies are enforced - Up to 20% travel required, primarily to cloud datacenters in Dallas, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC and London. Technical and Education Requirements • BS Degree in Computer Science or related field. • Extensive Cisco experience, including routing, switching and firewalls. • Experience working with VMware ESX 3.5/VSphere. • Experience working in data center environments with related equipment (servers, PDU’s, Racks, cabling, etc.). • Microsoft enterprise operating systems, Active Directory and applications (Office, Server and Desktop). • VCP/CCNA or equivalent network certifications required; CCNP, MCP and other related certifications a plus. Other Skills • Experience in VDI/VMview a plus. • Experience working with enterprise SAN (Storage Area Networks). • Experience with Linux. • SAN to SAN, host-based or SRM replication. • Experience with WAN optimization a plus. You will be a key member of the Systems Infrastructure team. You will interact with all levels of management and will be extremely technical with an outgoing personality. • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Sales Engineer/Solution Architect - Virtualization/Cloud Computing Houston, Texas iland Internet Solutions ( http://www.iland.com/) is seeking an experienced Senior Virtualization (Cloud) Pre Sales Engineer/Solution Architect to be part of our team in Houston, Texas. Job Responsibilities As Sr. Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting iland sales team members with pre-sales engineering support for cloud computing solutions. You will help recommend and design solutions that work within our cloud computing/colocation environment. Main responsibilities will include: - Getting on daily phone calls or site visits with C-Level prospects and customers to gather requirements and current IT architecture - Design and document virtualization based (cloud) solutions that are clear and concise in the form of a SOW (statement of work), that are detailed enough to be implemented by our deployment and engineering team, using Visio, word, and excel templates. - Work closely with engineering and product marketing in order to architect solutions. - Up to 20% travel required for onsite customer meetings, tradeshows, user group engagements, etc. Technical and Education Requirements • 4 Year college degree • In depth working knowledge of VMware products (Citrix a plus) • Strong Pre Sales Skills • In depth understanding of enterprise datacenter technologies including networking, security, SAN, Cloud Computing and datacenters. • Experience with IP based SAN/NAS technologies • Minimum 5 years experience in IT/Sales engineering role • Experience in VDI/VMview a plus. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft enterprise operating systems, Active Directory and applications (Office, Server and Desktop). • Knowledge of software based replication with any of the following tools: Vreplicator, Vranger, Platespin, DoubleTake, EsXpress, Acronis, Veeam. • SAN to SAN replication Other Skills You will interact with all levels of management and will be extremely technical with an outgoing personality. • Excellent note taking and documentation skills – attention to detail is key. • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
