If I understand this right we cannot get the pick if it is in the top 10? Is that correct? Ifd so I believe that makes the trade awful!

It would never be in the top 10 anyway because Milwaukee is a playoff team. This trade will prove to be very beneficial down the road. A pick around 15 in next year's draft, which is very deep, will be as good or better than pick 9 this year. So it will be essentially like getting Collier for free. The trade looks better to me all the time.

We could've gotten alot more for the pick is what's so disappointing. Why didn't we just trade the pick to say Phoenix at 25 for two first rounders in the future and second rounder. Then we could've have taken Collier or traded down even more to say 30 to LAC and picked up an additional second rounder. I think the Rockets could have seriously gotten about 3 or 4 picks for this pick, not to mention atleast one first rounder that wasn't conditional.

Conditional picks can be from anyone. This pick has to be Milwaukee's, and we get it as soon as it isn't top 10 (which unless something REALLY strange happens, is next year).

The more lefties on your team, the better.
Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong?
    Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.

We automatically get the pick next year if it is not in the top 10. So lets hope that they barely miss the playoffs so it'll be around 12 or 13 or we can hope that they barely make the playoffs and lose in the first round.

WE need the pick next year, if the draft is as deep is as it is supposed to be.

SooneRockStro- I agree with what you're saying, but if Collier was the guy for the Rockets, they couldn't risk losing him by trading that far down. There had been rumors of the Jazz taking him at pick 23 actually. Yes, they could have gotten more by trading down further, but what if Collier was gone by that pick? Then we'd have no Collier and no pick 9, and we would be in some serious trouble. And like Nike said, we will get this pick next year unless something strange happens.

Phoenix at 25 for two first rounders in the future and second rounder.

First off, I seriously doubt Collier would have been on the board at 25. I realize a good amount of mocks have him around there, but I think the NBA teams realize that he is a lot better than that.

Also, why would you want to take two future picks from the SUNS. They had the 25th overall pick this season despite losing Googs to injury. They will be as good or better in the future. Why do you want to give your West rival a top 10 pick and make them stronger when you can get a mid level pick next yr? First we have folks ripping Collier, then we have others saying the Rockets have no clue how to get value for their picks. Do you seriously think the Rockets dont know how to make trades and shop picks? Come on now.
