I believe he can be had if a team is willing to give up young cheap talent for CP3 and take on Okafor, Posie or Peja nasty contract....

It's been rumored that NJ would offer "anything but Brook Lopez".

So what you're looking at is potentially Devin Harris+#3 draft pick+Courtney Lee+Yi+future draft picks kind of a package.

There's no way the Rockets can compete with this kind of stuff.

Yeah tell that to DeJuan Blair. I know he's still a rookie and had limited minutes but he's been playing at a pretty high level for years now, since high school if I remember correctly.

I agree buyer beware, since that is a red flag but I see that as a barganing tool for the buyer more than a crutch, especially if Morey were to use it. ;)

I honestly do not believe AB will be able to reach CP3 ability and All Star level, I love the guy and hope he reaches greatness with us but I honestly don't see his ceiling being as high. Paul has a big advantage over Brooks on the defensive end, which Aaron will never be great at.

Hsf09 posted in another thread that the Celtics' pick is also on the market.

The 18th is also on the market. Miami willing to sell their pick for cash and Boston wanting a future pick.

If we acquire either of these picks, does Morey keep it to steal a prospect (Elliot Williams?) from the Spurs/Blazers or trade down for a package like to Grizzlies for the 25th and 28th (same package Minny was reportedly trading for)?

    Good point.

I didn't mean that AB will ever be as good as CP3 has been -- just that there's a very real possibility that CP3 will be coming down to AB's level if he knee proves to be problematic.

hmmm - you didn't take much to get me swayed. I'm flopping more right now than an Al Gore / Karl Malone love child.

If Lebron says to NJ: Chris Bosh and I will come to the Jersey Shore if you guys pick up Chris Paul.

Then i'll do (awesome Russian owner) a 3 team deal sending:

    NJ gets: Chris "MOFO" Paul
NO gets: Brook Lopez + 3rd pick + Pacers 10th
Pacers gets: Devin Harris + Okafor + Future 1st

Then the Brooklyn Bombers rape the East next year EASY just like Russian Billionaire projected.

Since we're trying to move up to the top 5 picks in the draft, I'm wondering if Brooks + $14 would get the #5 from Sac.
Geoff Petrie (sp?) seems like a much more reasonable man to deal with than Khan.

Maybe, but I think we have low standards on that.

Hey, would somebody please enlighten me: Who are CP1, CP2, CB1, CB2, CB3?

I already get that Philly's on their 2nd AI...

NO is open to trade Paul, Paul stated and i quote "My first choice is to be in NO. I just want to make sure we are commited to winning. If we are not commited to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the Lakers, the celtics and the other top teams, then I'm open to being traded".
I truly believe the rockets could make a push for paul, due to NO money struggles and trying to cut back salary. I would much rather have CP3 than CB4. Better player, we need a TRUE pg, and is a more complete player. So difficult to guard.

I would trade Brooks, our NY picks, Battier, Jeffries, and cash consideration for CP3 and i really do think No will pull the trigger.

    G-PAUL/LOWRY
    G-MARTIN/CBUD/TAYLOR
    F-ARIZA/FA
    F-HILL/SCOLA
    C-YAO/14TH PICK
