My List: #1)Ed Cota- Handle for sure, and a knack for finding the open man. The problem with Ed is that he does have much of an offensive game of his own, save or the pull-up jumper at the free throw line, and the standstill trey. Nice Back up for Francis at the Point. He ran N.C.'s offense really well. That's something to bank on. #2)Harold Arceneaux- The Show was passed over, but his scoring skills should find a home next year. A thick scorer who can take over a game. He Makes a nice backup for Walt Williams if you ask me. #3)Pepe Sanchez- Pepe is a phenomenal defender with arms to die for (they end somewhere around his feet), but he is a step slow and can only hit the stand still jumper. #4)Matt Santangelo- Monster player for Rockets Bench. Proabably a sweet role player. #5) Gee Gervin - Well, he's from UH so I've got to throw him on the list. A scorer who can get to the line. Will fill the pine nicely. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
The one player we absolutely have to invite; I still cannot believe he went undrafted is JaRon Rush of UCLA. For whatever reason, his stock plummeted in this draft. I heard he had some bad workouts and such. Rush is an explosive scorer on the wings that can run the floor well in transition and has excellent hops. It still amazes me what kind of players went instead of him. He would be an excellent fit on this Rockets team imho. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
I believe I heard one of the commentators say that Rush went to the workouts overweight and out of shape.... ------------------
How about Gabe Munuoke (SP?) from UT? ------------------ There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count and those who can't.
With all of the guarenteed contracts that we have for the upcoming year along with the two new draft picks, I don't see the Rockets inviting too many undrafted players to camp. Maybe if we trade off multiple players to acquire somebody.Otherwise, there's just not too many roster spots open. I don't think Les Alexander is going to eat any more guarenteed contracts just so we can sign a player for the end of the bench. Also, with so few roster spots available, we wouldn't be too apealing to undrafted free agents. ------------------
I agree with aelliot. Here is the list of the undrafted players who are looking for training camp invitations elsewhere: JaRon Rush Schea Cotton Brad Millard Justin Love Matt Santangelo Vassil Evtimov Jarrett Stephens Alexios Amanatidis-Zevrosenko Brandon Kurtz Harold Arceneaux Eddie Gill Reed Rawlings Pepe Sanchez Ed Cota Jimmy Hunter Johnny Hemsley Bootsy Thornton Kenyon Jones Nick Sheppard Lamont Long Terrance Roberson Alex Jensen Kevin Freeman Ryan Blackwell A. From the draft, Jaron Rush. sign Leon Smith, invite Hamilton and Washington. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know...
I say Tyronne Washington. If we don't resign Massenberg (and I'm not necessarily in favor of that) then we will need a banger in the paint. Let's see what he can do in camp since he didn't get a shot last year. ------------------
If Rush went into his workouts overweight, we should snap him up straight away, he could be our new Two Sandwiches, well at least 1.5 Sandwiches ------------------ Mango is the Smeg of Bizarro World
