Ok DD I like but is this possible Martin gone for cousins would we have enough assets to get bosh if so could we free up enough money for joe johnson to. I believe he's worth asmuch as martin but he has the ability to take over a game.
too late, wolves are keeping their #4 pick. http://www.nba.com/2010/news/06/22/wolves.draft.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2
Come on guys - Martin has had his share of little injuries but nothing serious and nothing recurring. Injuries are very fickle. I used to scoff at guys like Marcus Camby, Ilguaskas, and Grant Hill who always seemed to be hurt yet somehow they spent the last several years completely healthy all of a sudden. I'm not convinced Martin will never be healthy for us like some of you contend. Don't let the ghosts of Yao and Tmac inhibit your better judgment.
Missing 25 games a year isn't minimal. Basically, the team will always get 57 games out of martin, not to mention when he's a litte hurting, he doesn't play well with pain.
If the original cannot contribute when it counts how does the poor man's version fare? Just frustrating when you cannot get into the playoffs and no chance to win it big.
great vid DD. I don't know why people are so high on Rubio, from that I see in his highlights, he may well be a bust
...if you really think it's too late than your a complete rookie and missed the zillions of other times GMs have made one absolute statement only to do the exact opposite hours or days later. They still may keep it, but Kahn publicly saying they have decided to keep the pick is no doubt the haggling equivalent of making a final offer and walking away very slowly with ears perked up in a negotiation to see if the other person bites. It's just a bargaining tactic to try and force another GMs hand. Don't think they won't be on the phone discussing this up to the very last minute.
Kevin Martin is also the only player on the Rockets that could actually get Toronto to do a sign and trade for Bosh. Including fillers of course.
...he twisted an ankle that was misdiagnosed by the Kings staff and treated incorrectly which lead to a longer than expected recovery. Then he got a hairline fracture in his wrist(pretty random injury), and finally he had a soar shoulder with Houston. I agree I don't like his injury history, but considering he was putting up 30pts a game before he fractured his wrist, I'm not sure Houston would have any shot at acquiring him if he DIDN'T have an injury history. Guys who put up the stats he does are getting max contracts and are being heavily wooed by the Chicagos and NYs. I'm saying Houston was smart to take a risk on him considering the absence of a specific persistent injury and the reward being a legit star on the court. You gotta take risks to get a ring....the Celtics took risks on over the hill players who were used to being the man(Houston also took that risk back in the Barkley/Pippen days and it did NOT work out)...the Spurs took a risk on unproven foreign players(Ginobili, Parker)...the Pistons took a risk on building a team without a legit superstar - oh and building around unpredictable Rasheed Wallace. ....the Lakers were just lucky for the most part. ;-)
Again, its not entirely up to Toronto and more if Bosh wants to come to Houston. I wouldn't do the deal if Colangelo required Martin in that trade. Im not a big Bosh fan.
i rather give up AB or Bud than Martin. If we give up AB, Lowry can finally get what he wants and step in and be the starter. If we trade Martin there's a significant drop off from him to the next best SG. Morey just got Martin like just half a season ago and he's been after him for awhile, so it would be crazy to trade him like that. Unless JT becomes our Dwade lite, Martin should stay for the time being.
horrible you cant start brooks with rubio so why trade martin? i would rather keep our line up and just go for a big Bosh, amare, al jefferson stay with the 14th pick unless you can move up without giving up brooks, martin, scola, yao, budinger or hill you can make that trade but you would have to be saying good bye to lowry because rick is not giving up martin im sorry but its the truth just like van gundy didnt wanna give up tmac coaches have their favorites so martin wont be leaving unless its for a superstar and i dont see that happening sooo stfu DD you dumb ass jkjkjk lmao
DD, I think you should stick to strictly video posting from now. Even though you had several homerism moments, your thoughts behind the camera were so much more coherent and logical than most of your 65k+ posts. j/k maybe.
DD, I have to say I agreed with most of your points. But next time, let's try to understand the salary cap ramifications and true value of our players a little better. There is no way in hell Minnesota would trade #4 and Rubio for #14 and Martin.. that might get you only Rubio. Might. I think you need to find a sidekick who can reign you in when you go out on these cliffs, but other than that it was a good video. -LongTimeHater
Good vid. I just don't see any reason Minny would want Martin for essentially the 4th pick this year and the 5th pick last year. Minny would rather rebuild with picks or a young stud which Martin is not anymore.
as fredv already mentioned here, kahn does not want martin or his contract = end of trade idea! methinks if there's a trade made w/ minny, it'll be for jefferson
