Its 4.30 in the morning and I am not done with my ****. I tell myself I won't let this happen, but it seems like I always end up here.
Figure out what is distracting you the most. And then, get rid of it. For me, its the internet. So I go ahead and cut off the wireless antenna when I need to get down to business. Seriously, try it
Just keep procrastinating until something horrible results from it. Then you'll learn. Seriously, it's quite simply a matter of will power. You need to exercise that inherent trait that is within all of us. Sacrifice immediate gratification and attack your responsibilities head on. Be a Kyle Lowry in your personal life, not a Tracy McGrady.
Jesus is the ultimate procrastinator. He was like "Nah, let me take a little nap right now...I'll get back to this whole savior thing in...ah...a couple thousand years. Peace!"
Never hurts to get the ol' battery of tests from a competent ADD specialist. Then again, when I went in I have a feeling I could have interpreted them and just paid money for some online service to give me the tests. Your mileage may vary. What exactly are you trying to do? Class work? Work projects? Well, that's disappointing. I was coming into this thread to make fun of you but ended up trying to help. Sigh. q
But he's already a Carl Landry with a spectacular aura surrounding him OP: I don't think there is a clear solution to procrastination. Maybe you function better when you're under more time pressure. It happens to me, I wouldn't be able to do as well on any projects or assignments when I have weeks before it's due. When I do, I do such a crappy job of it. I tend to perform better under time pressure when the deadline is like 3 days away.
Maybe write down the steps and try to do them one at a time and check them off as you do them . . .. Get an organizer Rocket River I struggle with the same issue
You know, I actually have an organizer... sometimes it helps, most others it doesn't. I think for a professional procrastinator all an organizer does is to remind you what exactly you're procrastinating on. Besides I'd procrastinate on using it.
You may have just given me a reason to start doing things differently when I need to make a decision. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BrooksBall again.
You're not procrastinating, you just perform better under pressure. Go with your strong points and TCB when the pressure of the situation hits critical mass.
