Wow. I watch the opening game this morning, and I leave for work. BURBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB. I come home and turn on the TV, it's on ESPN. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBZ
The "furor" over the horns is getting old. They have played 1/2 the games of the tournament. If you haven't gotten used to it by now, you should probably stop watching because they're only going to get louder as the games get more important.
I have to say, the 2nd round of games is just night and day as far as level of play. Anyone want to make a case for the most impressive team so far? Have to say Argentina looks the most consistent. But Brazil seem to turn it on at whim.
I think some people are holding out hope that they'll disappear when all the African teams get eliminated.
Theyre not going to get louder because all the African teams have sucked. Don't think we will see any of them in the knockout stage. I've watched most of the games. I'm already used to it. I got so used to it, I totally forgot about it. I guess I didn't realize I left my tv on loud or something. That is all.
Group C Current standings: 1. Slovenia: 4 points, 3 goals, +1 goal difference 2. United States: 2 points, 3 goals, 0 goal difference 3. England: 2 points,1 goal, 0 goal difference 4. Algeria: 1 point, 0 goals, -1 goal difference Next matches: June 23: Slovenia vs. England and United States vs. Algeria Slovenia advances: * with a win or tie, OR * if it loses and if U.S. and Algeria tie, OR * if it loses and if Algeria wins, so long as Algeria doesn't force a tiebreaker with Slovenia. The U.S. advances: * with a win, OR * with a tie and if Slovenia-England tie, so long as England does not outscore the U.S. by two goals, OR * with a tie and if England loses. England advances: * with a win, OR * with a tie and if U.S. and Algeria tie and England outscores the U.S. by three goals. Algeria advances: * with a win and if Slovenia wins or ties, OR * with a win and if Slovenia loses and if Algeria forces a tiebreaker with Slovenia. Note: If the U.S. ties Algeria and England ties Slovenia, and if England scores exactly two more goals than the U.S., then the U.S. and England would be tied for second place with all of the tiebreakers exhausted. That tie would be broken by drawing lots. Wednesday is going to be fun
I don't know why people feel like they have to go through all these "scenarios"... just freaking WIN. Besides, someone in WikiPedia already does all that for you...
I wanted to see the game on the univision link that has been posted here, but it says I cant watch it outside the US, there's a way to watch the games there (maybe some proxy or something), or other link? thanks.
Doesn't Televizca have a feed free for all you peeps in Mexico, david_rocket??? How about TV hAz-tecla? Hopefully your username is true tomorrow, sir. VAMOS, MéXICO!
I don't think the horns have anything to do with African soccer, but rather people wanting to have fun at the matches. If I was there I would probably do the same thing. I never see people getting annoyed at the chanting of Olé Olé or others doing the Mexican wave. Don't see why the horn is annoying. Watch on mute if you don't like it.
Telerisa, have the same games on the internet feed and in the TV, so that doesnt help me, and TV azteca doesnt have an internet feed for the games.
^ Did you first ask to watch a DIFFERENT GAME than the one on TV? Telefutura will be showing the alternate (less popular) game when two are at the same time, while Univision will show the more important one. I wonder if they're going to split the screen on http://futbol.univision.com/fifacopamundial/partidos-en-vivo .
After being so off on predictions the other day, I'm gonna give this another shot. France 0-0 South Africa Uruguay 1-2 Mexico Argentina 3-0 Greece South Korea 1-0 Nigeria Really hope South Korea can play some defence tomorrow, A draw and a Greek lost would send us to the next round vs Mexico or Uruguay. Both teams are dangerous so I can't decide who I rather play should we advance. Wonder what's going to happen to France tomorrow? Domenech playing the reserve team? Players protesting by scoring own goals? It's nice to see those cheats in shambles (no offense to any Frenchmen on these boards).
