anywhere pretty much. even walmart etc. will have cheap/mid/highest priced batteries there so you chose what you want.
Oreilly. Their Super Start batteries are made in the USA if supporting US workers matters to you. I haven't had any issues with the last 2 I bought.
Diehard Gold seems to be the best compromise between quality and price to me. It has a 3 year replacement warranty which is the only warranty worth anything. When you comparison shop look at the length of the replacement warranty.
Every time I have gone to NTB for a new battery they tell me I need a new alternator (3 different cars, 2 different NTB’s The on 610 by Reliant and the one on Midtown). Every time I get my alternator checked out the shop I trust shows me how it is charging at an acceptable level. First thing the shop owner I trust asked me is if they checked the alternator with the old battery, I said yes. Then he asked did they have the radio, AC, and headlights on while they checked? I said yes because the actually did. He told me you can’t accurately check an alternator with a dead battery and you can’t expect a good charge level when the power is being diverted to all the accessories on . Every single time the issue has been the battery and not the alternator with my cars. My local shops only uses Interstate batteries and swears by them. I think they are 10 dollars more than NTB. I am not messing with NTB anymore. I have also heard good things about Sears Diehard but never used them.
autozone. it comes with warranty and they honor even if you completely forgot about it. My battery went out a month or so ago and I bought it at Autozone 05 I think. Well I was going to buy a battery somewhere else, but I ended up going to autozone. The alerted me that I still had warranty!!! I saved about 20 or 15 dollars.
i have bought 3 duralasts from autozone. 2 for my sisters camry and 1 for mine. but the last duralast i bought for her only last about 2.5 years so i went to sears and got the diehard one. then i sold the car 3 months later.
Duralast or Diehard. I'm a die-hard Diehard guy from personal experiences, and being in the automotive industry I've heard plenty of good things about Duralast. Whatever you do, don't go to Walmart. Spend the 5-10 extra bucks at Sears.
Oh well, I still got a discount on my next battery purchase even after 5 or 6 years. It was a pleasant surprise for me since I planned on paying full price for a new battery.
not even the crappiest car battery will die within 2 years as long as you drive your car on a daily basis. I'd rather get the longer warranty and then just pay the difference. Wherever you go remember to take your old battery. That's how you get the discounted price.
