Morey has always made draft moves that have left fans scratching their heads. I doubt this draft will be any different. Only way he'd draft what everyone expects is if we get far higher in this draft. A couple of points: 1) Yao is a big question mark, if not in the immediate future than definitely in the next few years considering age. 2) Les' green light. 3) Morey reiterating on many occasions on the plethora of talented players the team has in order to score a S&T. That means immediate impact players, ergo, a FA. Don't get attached to no. 14. A good part of me thinks he'll try and pull off another Donte Greene move because of the FA market. I think it's also very possible that he trades down to get a FA. That's what I'd do, but than again, they don't pay me the big bucks to be a GM.
I wonder how Whiteside, Alabi, Sanders, Aldrich, Orton and Udoh compare to Marcin Gortat who was Morey's 1st free agent target last offseason?
First of all, Rudy Gay came out after his SOPHOMORE year. Second, we SHALL see. We SHALL see. Seriously, though, it really doesn't matter what he does. The fact is, you can't use his "track record" in the first round as a basis for any credible prediction of what he'll do this Thursday. That's all I'm saying.
You got me there but u must admit chucks shooting touch was quite improved over last season[prob cause yao was out And Stromile and Eddie were just plain head cases. RIP Eddie. Truth be told I will be happy with whatever DM does but I really think we need a mean sob defender in the middle. Someone who isnt afraid to foul kobe like they did in the old days suspension be damned.
I think that is very possible. Morey will not move up into the first round for him, but he always buys early 2nd rounders
There's got to be a reason why Whiteside is dropping this much. Like DeJuan Blair with his knees, from last years draft.
