I don't think I've ever not beaten a game due to difficulty...I do abandon a lot of games due to boredom.
I don't understand what the big deal about Ninja Gaiden on the NES was all about. I remember that I was proud of having learned how to master it, and in fact I would have friends come over just because they wanted to watch it. (Man that opening sequence was so awesome for the times LOL) But I never knew it had this reputation of being so impossible to beat. 20-some-odd years later though, now I doubt I could get 2 minutes into it.. hehehehe
I thought MW2 was hard on veteran. Still trying to figure out how I'll get all 69 stars in special ops.
I played the original NES Ninja Gaiden on my step-brother's wii a couple years ago. In a matter of a few hours I was able to beat it. Just like riding a bicycle it came back so quickly. Definitely not an easy game, but not nearly as hard as most people make it out to be. Same with Mega Man. The first one was pretty darn difficult, but 2, 3, and 4 were pretty easy to finish IMO.
zelda 1 hacked into 2nd journey beat both, metroid 3 times continuous no breaks he turned into a girl kid icarus 4 times straight continuous without breaks
I beat TMNT for NES back in the day, and I'm beginning to think I'm the only person in the world who has. I don't remember too much about it, but I remember using Donatello for everything. He was slow but the range of his staff made up for it. Or just enter "Justin Bailey" as the code, if memory serves. I had a HELL of a time with the original Castlevania. I'd whoop up on Dracula and then he'd turn into that werewolf thing and give me a good stomping. The best I ever did was getting that b*stard down to his last life bar bar before he waged a massive comeback and killed me good. I went back like 10 years later determined to beat that game and I FINALLY did it. I hate that damn werewolf.
In other thread mentioned Secret of Mana, and now I remember that I never finished it, was very difficult!
Spec ops is a lot tougher than the campaign. I havn't played that part a ton, but I think I have somewhere in the low 50s. Which ones are you having trouble with in particular?
That Juggernaut with all the super snipers is ungodly hard. And the one with the juggernauts on the Brazilian stage. **** getting the 69 stars.
I beat the one in the Brazlian favela by myself with 3 stars, that one is actually very easy, but there is a trick to it. There is one with the juggernauts that I am having trouble with, but I have gotten pretty far without playing it too much. You gotta use sniper rifles on them, and both you and your partner need to set claymore/c4 traps (put them all in 1 place, it will kill one each, that takes care of 4 of em.
Haven't played them all yet. Only Alpha is complete all the way. The introduction of Juggernauts is ridiculously hard. I'm worried about all the ones that take over 5 minutes expected completion time.
Tron on the Intellivision. Missile Command and Stargate. Those old games never stopped and pretty soon you just quit.
Make sure to use snipers with the juggernauts, if you and a buddy are both shooting at one, they go down easy. Some of the hardest ones will take you up to 20 minutes to complete the first time on vet idk if you have unlocked the final group of missions, but there are only 3 and they are only juggernauts. ONe with a wave of 10, one with a wave of 15 and another with waves plus normal guys
Got through COD 2,4,5,6 on hardest setting. All stars in COD6. There's a trick to the jug favela level but everything else did totally on my own. How can you guys have probs with these but can get multiplayer kills out the wazoo? I've only ever gotten 3 nukes. One of the hardest was legitimately getting a double kill with the Spartan laser in halo 3. Saved that video. Recently beat zelda2 since I'd never been able to do it as a kid. I recall tmnt being hard as well but haven't played in years. Also recall being inordinately proud to finish Oregon trail back in the day.
Battletoads Ninja Gaiden The Adventures of Bayou Billy Fester's Quest TMNT Zelda 2 (beatable I know, but my 6 year old brain couldn't do it) Ghostbusters (also beatable, but mind numbing) Contra (can any of you say you ever beat it without the Konami code?) Friday the 13th (it wasn't that the game was hard, it was just so poorly made it became difficult) Castlevania 2 (also not hard, just tedious and crappy design)
