I've been on the Shiner beer brewery tour but willing to travel outside of Texas for any recommendations you folks have. I really like seeing the process of how things are made so any suggestions?
I went to the Guiness factory tour in Dublin, it was good I also went to a butter factory tour in Cork, it was bad
Coke Factory tour in Atlanta. You get all the free Coke and all the international varieties at the end! Ben and Jerry's tour in Waterbury, Vermont. You get all the free ice cream at the end!! Hershey Chocolate factory tour in Hershey, PA. I think you get like one bar of chocolate. Bluebell Ice Cream Factory Tour in Brenham, TX. There also used to be a Miller Lite factory tour in Houston as well. I can't remember. My dad took me when I was young. I've always wanted to check out the Mrs. Bairds Bread factory tour in Houston. Also the Dr. Pepper plant in Waco.
Fairfield, CA Jelly Belly University http://www.jellybelly.com/visit_jelly_belly/jelly_belly_university.aspx Budweiser Brewmaster Tour http://www.budweisertours.com/toursBeermaster_fairfield.htm Both of these are not the regular factory tours. It's a small group tour that'll actually go on the floor and see how things work. Costs a bit more, but worth it.
The hershey tour is pretty good. They give u a king sized bar and its kinda like astro world. If u go to puerto rico, the bacardi factory is cool. U get some drinks and get to but some duty free stuff. They have this 12 yr aged rum u can only get there, bahamas, and bermuda.
Trane chiller factory in Pueblo, Colorado. White water rafting included. Trane air handling unit factory in Lexington,Ky. Went to Keeneland Horsetrack while there. Carrier Air Handling Unit Facory in Charlotte, NC. Got taken to the Bobcats v Rockets game Dectron factory in Montreal. Awesome city. * planning to visit the Munters factory in Sweden this summer So that should be fun.
Not really a suggestion, but the Guiness factory in Dublin was cool. At the top they have a sky bar and you can see most of the city. Also all the floors have an opening in the middle that make the shape of a pint glass.
Heineken beer factory tour in Amsterdam. Went on an early tour....like 9am or something. Then at the end they bring out several freebie pints. So there I was, in Amsterdam, and I was solidly drunk by like 10:30am. It was awesome.
Haha didn't do the butter factory. Guinness tour was pretty cool. Did you at least do the Waterford Crystal? We got to see the showroom, but didn't get to see the official tour . The Dresden tour was suppose to be cool.
The Guiness factory tour isn't through the actual factory but the old brewhouse. They remodelled it and it is pretty interesting architecturally along with a lot of multimedia presentations showing the history of Guiness and how Guiness is brewed. The tour ends at the Gravity Bar which has 360 degree views of Dublin.
