It should be quite easy for ming to average double double on ppg and rpg next season. We know he is a good passer, If he only take 10-12 shoots a game, with good shooters around him, could he average double digit on assists?

Jason kidd had about 8 triple double games last season, could triple double average make ming the MVP next season?

    Just a thought.

I don't think that there is any way Yao avg's double digit assists. I do think that there is a very good chance that he could have some triple doubles this year as a lot of teams and players are going to be anxious to challenge him in the paint.

with yao and griffin coming along, steve's assists will go up. we already averaged 7 last year. this year maybe 8. i think steve was a good chance to lead the league in triple doubles.

Very unlikely Ming will get double digit rebounds next season. There is not a chance in hell he will be close to double digits in assists.

However, I think he has potential to get triple doubles with assists or blocks in a given game. Possibly even a quadruple double at some point.

Ming might not be able to average double doube solely because his playing time might be limited early in the season because of his stamina. It'll take sometime for him to catch up the pace in NBA. On the other hand, I wouldnt be surprised he'll get triple assists in some games, afterall he is a good passer and he'll be double teamed.

I think most of Ming's triple double games will be with points, boards, and blocks, not assists. I think it is quite possible he will have 2 or 3 triple doubles his first year.

Your numbers are super conservative considering what he did against the U.S. the other night.

I bet he avg's at least 3 assists a game and 10 rebounds a game.

Aug. 31 should be enough to validate his performance thursday night.

he has a higher possibility to get doubles on blocks than assists??

but i see him as a solid double doubler...

Is the Dream still the only player to achieve a quadruple double in a pro game?

I think there are a couple others, but I'm not sure. I know Magic had one, but that was with TO's. :D I think maybe 2 or 3 have done it.

edit: yep, he was the 3rd in NBA history. CHecked on NBA.com
