I love Ron. I wouldn't want him on my team but I have a real appreciation about how sincere he is about his game. If you watched his interview after the game tonight, you know what I'm talking about. The guy isn't 100% there sometimes but somehow he manages to come through in crunch time. Those of you who say he had very little to do with the Rockets advancing to the second round a couple years ago are crazy.
Clutch three, was the best player on the floor that game, and it is always SO good to get an interview from a first time champion.
Lakers would not have won this championship without Artest. They won this year against the Celtics, as opposed to two years ago because 1) Garnett was slowed down due to age and injury. A healthy Garnett would have shut down Gasol like he did two years ago. 2) Paul Pierce, the best player of the finals two years ago was pitiful this year. Why? Ron Artest.
Yeah you seem to be forgetting Gasol wasn't brought into the team at the midpoint of this season so him being w/ the Lakers for a full season(actually the past two and a half seasons) kinda helped. Having a "relatively" healthy Andrew Bynum to make up a big frontline, kinda sorta helped. Pierce wasn't pitiful, feel free to single out Ray Ray for his disappearing act after game 2. A healthy Garnett also would not have shut down Pau and neither would Pau shut down a healthy Garnett.
He deserves it after all the BS he has been through, I am glad for him...congrats Ron, but I dont wish you any more rings.
