I need to spread more rep before I give it to Ottomaton. But he's on fire in this thread. His upfront truth telling, and calling it like it is, is very refreshing.

Why did Olbermann say it was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days., or he didn't aim at all

What is going on? There is a current of media lefist death eaters turning it's back on he who must not be middle named...

We know exactly why you used his middle name, you just don't have the sack to man up and admit it.

ROX, think about it for a minute. You can be a reasonable person. I don't know your real name, and don't want to (I wouldn't tell you mine), but what if, for some reason you were never fully clear on, your parents gave you the middle name of Hitler or, heck, just Adolf? So you would become ROX Hitler RAN. Perhaps ROX Adolf RAN? Hey? What would you do? Legally change your name? Proudly go by the name ROX Hitler RAN? Even better, ROX HITLER RAN? Let us say that's your middle name and, oh, for whatever reason, you decide that's not the best middle name in the world and never use it, prefering ROX H. RAN, for example, or, as you are doing here, simply ROXRAN, with the words shoved together, leaving no room for your middle name, HITLER.

Would it bother you if someone found out about your middle name, HITLER, and began using it, not affectionately, but simply as a way to insult you and attempt to make your friends and relatives angry, while co-workers, the people on the street, begin to think you are, well, HITLER?

One could use an even better example with the OP... Odds Hitler On.

I did not think it was possible for anyone to post something dumber than Odds Hitler On, but here you are...

Your reading comprehension is terrible. No one ever says that one opinion is better than another, just one group isn't scared to tell you what they think and why. Grow the **** up.

People who do use his middle name, do it to point out a Muslim name, it has less to do with Saddam Hussein, IMO.

I've seen it used both ways. Does it matter?

I find it odd, but maybe that is to be expected for a poster called "Oddson".
Obama's middle name was never mentioned in the video so why even bother to put it in the title?

Apparently the OP cares that his middle name is "Hussein" otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to type it out. If you are justifying this by saying that other people have called other presidents worse things are you then acknowledging that including Obama's middle name is meant to be some sort of asperstion on Obama?
Really? I consider myself something of a political junkie and history buff but I have almost never seen Ronald Reagan referred to by his middle name.

Matthews might be singing a different tune after one of his biggest criticisms of Obama's speech, how he was going to get BP to pay for the escrow fund, has been answered today.

You're right! Anybody who uses his full name is a racist as Ottoman has clearly brought to the boards attention. Its a weak argument to cover up that for 60 days oil has been spewing out of bottom of the ocean with no real plan in site besides the back up well. Barack H_____ Obama (you almost had me there) told everybody that this is on him now and the best thing that he could come up with in his speech was an ingenious idea to make sure claims are paid and the Jimmy Carter-esque fossil fuel scolding (turned out great for him!)

If I have to hear how many Nobel prize winning scientist (whom none have any experience drilling for oil) he has on his staff I'm going to puke!

Barack..this is your problem now. Lets see something!

I can honestly say that this thread is where I learned Reagan's middle name.

I don't think that OO is necessarily racist, but my comment stands without Ottomaton's. The OP used the name Hussein and is now refusing to defend that usage. I am of the opinion that the OP wanted the name Hussein to reverberate negatively in the reader's mind and isn't man enough to simply admit that simple fact.

So, would you support the US government levying taxes to make sure that they can respond to a failed oil well a mile underwater? Obama has put wide and varied resources in place to minimize the impact and clean up as much oil as possible, but the pure fact remains that only BP and other oil companies have the expertise to deal with this situation. Obama's plan at this point appears to be holding BP accountable and making them pay the entire cost of the cleanup, which is about what his role should be at this point.

I personally hope that Obama seizes this opportunity to turn the country in a greener direction, increasing funding of renewable energy and revamping the environmental regulations imposed on oil companies. If this rig had gone down in Canadian waters, for example, their regulations require a relief well be drilled in parallel to the primary well, a regulation that I would suggest should be imposed for all water based drilling operations.

I would like to hear any conservative say what more they think Obama could have done. All I keep hearing is that Obama hasn't done more, but nobody has articulated any specific actions that Obama should take. At this point, making sure BP pays claims and using this situation as a fulcrum to get the boulder of renewable energy rolling.

Who gives an Earthly crap how many Nobel winning scientists are in the White House, what I want to know is what more you think Obama should do.

You are seeing something, you have simply chosen to close your mind to it.

SunsRocketsfan I've been critical of Obama and I certainly don't agree with Otto on everything, but it's obvious OddsOn meant Hussein in a derogatory way, which makes why he thinks Hussein is derogatory a valid question.

Why can't people call him Obama or President Obama or Barack Obama? Why does the Tea Party and similar have to call him "Barack Hussein Obama"?

It's just so bizarre and clearly they are trying to insinuate something. But to me, when they do it, it only makes me think these people are grossly prejudice.

There is a certain "tea hee, we made a librul mad!" sentiment that I don't get at all. But I suspect, Otto, that Odds On, et alia, don't really fully understand why they're obsessed by the middle name, so that's one big reason he can never answer the question.

Here's the biggest pile of fail for the thread, however.

If Keith Olbermann is a liberal demon, and he is now criticizing Obama, how does that not equal a huge win for Obama?

If you are a thinking moderate... if you have not pledged to either party... then seeing that Limbaugh, Beck, Olbermann and Moore all hate what the president is doing is probably a reassuring sign that he's a pragmatic centrist. Not a ohmygodsozialistcommiefascistmooselems!
