He used his middle name because he's a proud member of POOP:

Your post is full of hypocrisy. Its ok for you to think that Bush was a stupid redneck cowboy wanna be but its wrong for someone to call Obama a commie muslim facist? Since when is your opinion greater than someone elses?

Also, you feel the urge to call me a "name calling p***y". Pot calling the kettle black? Oh, and please show me where I called anyone a commie muslim facist or anything remotely like that. Try thinking before you post next time before giving your "factual" opinion.

While Matthews does compare Barack Hussein Obama to James Earl Carter, in the same sentence he also compares him to Ronald Wilson Reagan and William Jefferson Clinton.

Actually no he never does he compares Barack Obama to Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. No where in the video do any of the commentators use a President's middle name.

Back on the main subject though the title is misleading in another way as neither Matthews, Olberman or Fineman say that Obama is making Carter look good. The only comparison is raised is that Matthews states that energy transition is the hardest thing to do and it broke Carter.

Go throw your racist labeling at someone else....typically when people call somebody a racist they usually have nothing else left to offer in the debate.

You're not too good with the reading comprehension, are you? He didn't say it was wrong for someone to call Obama a commie Muslim fascist (at least not in this post). He said it was wrong for someone to try really hard to use imagery and verbiage linking Obama to commie Muslim fascists and not have the balls to admit that's what they're doing.

haha thanks oddson. I totally agree I can't believe the outrage from the loony left about HIS ACTUAL middle name. Okay lets just say the OP used his middle name with a negative meaning but SERIOUSLY WHY DOES IT MATTER? Just ignore it! You summed it up well here

WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME?
WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME??
WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME???

BUT WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME HUH HUH HUH???

OMG WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME????!!!!!

sounds a bit ridiculous huh? Come on guys. .Past presidents have been called much worse names than his ACTUAL REAL MIDDLE NAME...

But since it was never mentioned in the video then why did you bother to type it out or are you saying you just did out of thoughtlessness or out of habit?

Of course they have and that is understandable that critics call Presidents bad things but it is rare to refer to a president by their whole middle name? Why do you think the OP did it? Was it just a thoughtless reflexive act on his part?

For that matter if this is such a stupid issue why then are you and OP so defensive about it?

    1) Otto never referenced the rightness or wrongness of either of these things, in fact, the only thing he seemed to do was accept it as an opinion, which is correct, and something you're entitled to. There was never a moral argument here.

    2) I guess you missed it, but Otto was speaking in reference to OddsOn's post. So technically, he called OddsOn a name-calling p***y, which he is. Now, if you're somebody who goes around playing the "Hussein" card everywhere for the same ends Otto described, then yes, you would be a name-calling p***y that is afraid to stand up for your own convictions.

Take some time to brush up on your reading comprehension before you embarrass yourself any further.

I'm not defensive about it and I have no idea what the OP's original intentions are. I am just saying it really is becoming so ridiculous that referring to someone's middle name is such a BIG issue on this board. Everyone's reaction is "OMG WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME!! ANSWER ME NOW! WHY?""" Now don't you find that a bit ridiculous. People have called other presidents much worse things. Who cares if his name is Hussein? Does that mean he is somehow connected to Saddam? If people think so than they are definitely idiots. It's obvious to everyone that the OP doesn't approve of Obama so just move on and discuss the topic and I do see people refer to Ronald Wilson Regan every once in awhile also.

If you think n*****s shouldn't be in the White House, by all means, say it. Repeat it. Climb up on a mountain and sing it like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music. You'll get ripped a new @sshole for being a racist turd, but that is better than being a lying dishonest slimy racist turd. If you are afraid of actually saying the words, then keep all the sly hinting about African-Americans in the White House (or whatever it is that you are upset about) to yourself.

But whatever you do, if you are are sure enough that you are willing to make vague accusations on a BBS, then don't just hint at it and run away like a giggling schoolgirl who just kissed some boy on the playground when someone asks you to actually repeat what you just coyly hinted at.

If you believe something, don't be afraid to actually say it. If you are embarrassed to say it, you should probably spend more time thinking about it before saying it. Hinting at things obliquely and then running away when someone tries to pin you down on what you are saying is the behavior of a little child.

Either say it, stick by it, repeat it, and clarify it, or don't say it at all. Under no circumstances make vague hints of accusations and then run off when asked about it. I'd find that sort of behavior an embarrassment coming from my 8 year old niece. Is that really such a difficult concept?

Awesome job of turning this into a white/black thing! That's exactly what this thread was missing. How did a Muslim middle name turn into someone being upset about a having a black president. Can someone say 'over reaction'?

The same people coyly emphasizing "Hussein" are the same ones who brought us the "its a White House" meme:

Not to mention the fake Kenyan birth certificate, or any of the Tea Bagger signs like the following:

In my experience it seems to be all vaguely linked to a fear of otherness. If there is anybody who is upset that he is black but not about his perceived "Muslim-ness", or anybody upset about him supposedly being Muslim, but not because he is black, I'd be glad to hear from you if you would like to correct me.
