if the Lakers are ahead in the 4th quarter by 5-6 points, say goodbye to the Celtics championship chances. THey will more than likely use the Hack a Rondo since he's shooting 23% from the FT line in the finals and 59% in the playoffs.
Yeah, you mean things like Pierce tripping Gasol purposely, Garnett grabbing Kobe's leg while falling to the ground and trying to twist it, Allen pulling Kobe's arm w/ both hands around his wrist on an inbounds causing the turnover, etc.

They gave him a T because he's not at the limit like Sheed who can go AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!1 while swinging in the air. The T limit rule is as bogus as they come. Pippen punched Salley with a closed fist on the dome in Gm4 of the 2000 WCF and they didn't suspend him either. The only thing you're almost a lock to get suspended for in a marquee series is stepping onto the floor during a scuffle and not even doing anything.
Lie. Staples and the old Mem Coliseum were full or near full during the Clippers' rare above-mediocre years (92, 93, 06). You played the Rockets in the 93 playoffs, some of the older fans here remember.
Because that's all we irish do isn't it, get drunk, fight, and scream Kobe sucks like a bunch of classless pieces of scum.
Exactly. If we can name most of the refs in a sport, that means the refs are way more influence on the game than they should be.
What the hell are you talking about? I didn't say that the Clippers sold out arenas. They have a small, loyal following and the only hint of a bandwagon was in '06 after the Lakers got knocked out of the playoffs. The Fakers, meanwhile, are full of frontrunning fans (who conveniently disappeared during the 90s). Half of them can't even name the starting 5 on the current team. If you live in So Cal this is pretty obvious.
Right thats why 250,000 people took a day off and went to the parade 2 days after they won the championship last year.
Why would anyone spend 12 hours out in the sun waiting outside a stadium or around the streets for a 1 hour parade? doesn't make sense unless they're die hards
there are several reasons nba refs are relatively more known. 1. all 3 of them are on court and in camera view pretty much the entire game, whereas in baseball the home plate ump is pretty much the only one who gets major camera time (and he's wearing a mask), and in football you can only see 1 or 2 at a time depending on where the ball is. 2. they all make calls. again, in baseball, the home plate ump is probably going to make most of the important calls in a game and in football only the head ref actually gets screen time to announce penalties and such, everyone else just quickly reports the infraction to him. 3. player interaction. there is just far more interaction with players in basketball than in the other sports, and commentators mention the refs name quite often in these instances. "kobe talking to joey crawford about that call,", "kg not happy with the call from dick bavetta," "dan crawford explaining that last call to rasheed." basically, we get to hear their name while they are on camera a bunch more than the other sports, and thus we tend to know their names better than in other sports. it's not like baseball and football umps are out there nailing calls 100% of the time and that's why we don't notice them.
They get to be a part of "Laker nation" for a day and get drunk and party. The majority of those fans wouldn't recognize Derek Fisher if they saw him flopping around on the street. Basically, they are mindless sheep. Much like the Faker fans on the Internet. There are some real fans in there, of course. Just not many.
You make some good points, but it doesn't help when refs like Joey Crawford are doing dramatic pauses and mimes whenever they make (or blow) calls. Just lay back and GTFO of the game, Joey!
I'm assuming Perk won't play. Can Sheed step it up? Can the Boston bigs stay out of foul trouble? I'm also assuming Bynum will play.
In that case, Boston loses. It's sad, they have all these veterans who should be leading, but the team just flat out gives up and puts in no effort once Perkins is gone.
