But why is it that no one is asking Jordan to teach them anything?? Has he passed on anything to any of the young player in today's game? Just asking??? I do appreciate Hakeem passing on anything to today's players, even if it is Boozer. If I see a move that resembles Hakeem's, it makes me proud knowing that today's player still respect him, asks him for advice and try to mimic his moves. He was great!
rec'd Hakeem is building a rep now and the league is beginning to take notice and next season teams and announcers will be mentioning that their bigs will need to see Hakeem more and more.. altho it kinda suck other players are pickin our fave players brain Im goin to be intrigued to see how Howards offensive game inproves, hes been quite horrible on O so he will be light years better next yr and lookout NBA, except for when Yao plays him
nice read, but im not sure if dwight can pick up any of hakeem's moves since he's more of a power center if anyone can benefit from dream it's Boozer. his game most closely resembles the dream. he's got great footwork and a nice touch.
Jordan wont do this hes too 'busy' or too good to take the time with anyone.. knowin Jordan he'd prolly wana get paid.. besides that, these are bigs besides Kobe and if u wana learn the best moves then Hakeem is the mecca
It's funny how these veteran NBA stars waited until late in their careers to get training from Hakeem, while my man Whiteside did it immediately after coming into the draft. That move was the best move that he will ever make in his young NBA career. That to me says that he is willing to put in the work necessary to become a professional. That is why i ignore all the talk of him being immature and not ready. That solidifies him as not being a bust.
I don't know about solidifying him as not being a bust, but it does show that he has the want to to be a pro and the best pro he could be. Unless Hakeem outright came out and told the Rockets, this guy is the next ME I wouldn't be so quick as to call him a bust. Anyone can go to a pro and get help, Dorsey did with CD but that didn't do much for his game. You need the skill as well as the desire.
If Dwight Howard can master like one-third of Hakeem moves he can easily be one of the top 5 players in the NBA, probably top 3.
It has little to do with the players, just timing on Dream's part. He wasnt open to doing this much before because he had other things going on in his life. That's why it's all been done within the past year... And Whiteside can still be a bust. Getting help means jack if you can't translate it to the court.
i'm not sure if MJ does one on one stuff like this, but he doesn talk to players about it. kobe, specifically, has said he has spoken to MJ and picked up tips from him.
Kind of hard to ask Jordan for help. If they want to play like Jordan, they probably need to ask David Stern for help.
I'm tired of reading about guys from other teams working out with the Dream. I want to read more about our guys working out with Olajuwon! As for the comment from Howard that Hakeem could give them 10-15 minutes a game, even at 47, I believe it. Just make it the Rocks if you get bored, big fella, OK?
true but theres no way to tell right now if that will make him successful or a bust.. but with a willingness to learn and get better hes ahead of the curve and further from bein a bust than a contributor
Teach Dwight what exactly? Seems to me that if Ewing were good at coaching, howard wouldn't have to go to Dream....but even he recognizes Dream the best there is, was and perhaps ever will be. Kind of interesting that centers under Ewing's 'tutelage' have to seek out Dream in order to get better....
im reading this sentence as if you think ewing leaving yao to teach dwight is bad news. sikma is already a better big man coach than ewing right now lol.
