Sally did not say that Ming had a poor performance, he just said that he should have made the dunk. Is he not right?

Huh? This thread isn't about whether Ming should have missed or made a wide open dunk. Come on, do you really think people are arguing that Ming shouldn't have made that dunk? No **** he should have made it. What this thread is about is some Yao- Hatin' trolls using one play in an exhibition game as "troll fuel." That's all this is.

Salley is just an average player. The Piston got the rings simpily because they played hard and DIRTY. Look at their front court, Rodman, Lambeer and Co.. All of them r role players, there was no superstar or dominating player there. Salley's comment just doesnt carry any credits at all.

Technically, Ming probably can jump higher without his underwear. Isnt that true also. Too bad Salley didnt make a comment like that on the show.

A comment like Yao Ming will be lucky to achieve the skill that John Salley had kind of tips me off to the idea that maybe Queso is being sarcastic and having a little fun with all of us. Because I don't really think anyone would ever say that with a straight face.

I think one of the most embarressing moments in all of sports was when little KJ had that monster dunk over Hakeem back in the day. Some people said "Hakeem should have blocked that" and they were probably right, but Hakeem is the all time NBA blocks leader and therefore it would be stupid and misguided to say that based on that play Hakeem sucks. Even the greatest have lapses. I mean Yao was playing against NBA all-stars out there with a bunch of no names as team mates.

This argument is silly. EVERYONE MISSES A DUNK ONE TIME OR ANOTHER!!!!! Problem is that everyone views Yao as GOD and expect him to be the BEST CENTER EVER NOW which is unrealistic.

I am a Yao fan but my fav team is the Lakers. I have seen Kareem and Shaq miss at least 5-10 wide open dunks over the years and from the last time I checked, they are considered great players.

Just out of curiousity why is your favorite team the Lakers? Are you from LA or are you just one of those people who root for whatever team they think is the most popular so they can feel like they are cool and hip.

Calm down buddy. The Ming bashers are just desperate so they pick on every little thing they still can find to bash him, no matter how trivial and laughable it is.

ElGrande doesn't like Yao Ming for whatever reason, so expect plenty of whining and crying and complaining about Ming and making up lies like Ming not having any fundamental skills. Ming's strength ARE his fundamental skills. If you're going to rip Ming at least get your information straight.

Nevermind, this comment right here tells me you're either drunk, high, or don't know what you're talking about. Your credibility just went out the window if you actually think that.

The U.S. players said that Ming was strong, VERY strong, Antonio Davis said that himself. You're making yourself look more and more ridiculous. Look, stop lying. The more you come on here and give an uninformed comment, an idiotic comment, or make up a lie you make Ming look better and better.

Geez. You'd think ElGrandeQueso was Troy Baros or something. I haven't seen this many people roast an individual since, well, yesterday's roasting of gettinbranded. Yao haters, believe it or not, deserve to have their opinions heard as well... unless they're utter, complete trolls (which very well may be the case here). Homogeneous opinion on this BBS is boring. Isn't it more fun to actually prove Yao-doubters wrong with facts? Besides, some of the non-believers, like BTM, have provided great signatures, too...

Yao-Hatin? Did you even see Salley talk? He is a hater because he said Ming should have made the dunk? It doesnt mean that Ming sucks because he missed the dunk, it just means that he should have made it.

What did he say, exactly? I didn't watch it, so I'm basing my opinion on this thread. If they asked him about how Ming did, and he just mentioned that he should have made the dunk, that could be considered hating. IF you can't remember the 6 blocks, or 13 points, but you can remember the missed dunk, you were probably a little biased. If he said he looked real good, even though he missed a dunk, I may understand.

Now, as far as Yao never being as good as Salley...

Everyone on that show are sack riders and will hop on whoever happens to be the guest. They licked Shaq's nuts when he was there and talking about Yao. They took a ride a Vince Carter's scotum trying to convince him he was the best player in the NBA, and when Yao has played a few games and does a guestspot on that show they'll be all over him. They just want insult anyone to their face.

 Dude, C'mon now. I was against the Rockets drafting Yao initially (quite adamant about it too), but as a Rockets fan, I trusted Rudy and CD's judgement and I'll support any player that wears the pinstripes. I still had doubts about him but after his performance the other night those doubts were erased. Your unrelenting hate for him is just plain silly and ignorant. If you're really a Rockets fan, support Yao and all our players.

"1st. At best John Salley was a bit role player during his years. A jurneyman is more like it. In Salley's best dream he didn't block 6 shots and gather 11 boards with 3 steals, 3 assists and 13 points against the best Centers in the game and with no help.

2nd. If you think anyone that is 7'5" misses a dunk then how about someone that is 7'4" or 7'2" or 7'1" or 7'0"? I guess that would make Ralph Sampson, Hakeem Olajuwan, Bill Walton, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Moses Malone, Wilt Chamberlain, Shaq, Tim Duncan, Elvin Hayes and any other center you can name a douche. They have all missed dunks. I don't care if you're Chinese, Black, Arab, White, or Eskimo if you are a 7 footer and you play enough basketball you are going to miss a dunk at some point in your life.

3rd. Everyone got a big laugh out of MJ missing that dunk but not one person challenged his greatness or his basketball skills because he missed that dunk. It was funny and it happened and MJ is still arguably the greatest basketball player to ever lace up a pair of tennis shoes. So according to your logic MJ is still a great player after missing a dunk but Yao is a douche because of it. Nice logic head cheese."

    Well said.

On a side note, how many times do you think Bill Walton is going to tell Yao to "Throw it down big fella!" this season during any national games we may get?

    :D
