Some that say he's not working on his game enough and while from a distance that may seem to be true, it sounds like Dwight has heard his critics. While a number of NBA players are vacationing – Dwight spent the last week working with Hall-of-Famer Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston. Dwight was joined in Houston by good friends Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer. The Trio put in three hour days with The Dream on low post moves and foot work. Howard blogged that even at 47 he thinks Hakeem could give a NBA team a good 12 to 15 minutes off the bench. "I started to call Otis Smith up and tell him to sign Hakeem to a contract because I really think he could give us 12 to 15 minutes a night off the bench," joked Howard. "He has so much knowledge about playing in the post and I'm just trying to be a sponge and soak up everything that he teaches me." "Hakeem showed me some things with footwork and shots off fakes to get free. He was always so patient in the post and it was like he had defenders on a string with his moves. So I'm just trying to pick up as much as I can from him." Howard will have a busy summer filming a movie in China, recording a track on a children's album, even an appearance on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody - so his critics will still have plenty to complain about. Howard joked that he was working on his own signature move after spending time with The Dream. "Hakeem had the Dream Shake, but mine is going to be the Milk Shake," blogged Howard. "I've got a lot of drills and moves from Hakeem to work on all summer, and it's just about taking them to the game now. Hopefully, I will get to work out with Hakeem again in August when I'm in Africa visiting for Basketball Without Borders. And we might get to see one another in Houston again before training camp." Whether you like Dwight or not, the idea of Howard developing a consistent post-game has to be a bit scary. Link
Haha, Patrick Ewing must be sick of The Dream! Here he is working out with The Dream, giving him love, and he should really be doing this with his own assistant coach! Ewing must be crying in his sleep & I love it! I think this calls for a video of The Dream. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0GCyU0sKxqI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0GCyU0sKxqI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Yeah I thought the same thing first, but first it's The Dream, he's allowed to do anything he wants, every time I see a video or article about the man I'm in awe. He will forever be the greatest Rocket, no matter what happens. Second, it's boozer, he'll never use any of those post moves. He's a one trick j*zz. As for Bosh, hopefully he's talking him into joining the rox.
I'm sure they're all trying to get better. But, this might be a PR move for Bosh and Booze to raise their values before signing big contracts. Teams would be willing to offer more for working out and learning from the greatest to ever do it.
After the travesty that was Hakeem in a raptors jersey it's only fitting that Bosh comes to Houston as payback! Bosh to Houston, make it happen.
so the list of Dream Students: Yao Loozer Bosh K. Bryant Okafor I miss anyone? Thats a heck of a list
Considering how he took Ewing to school, it only seems reasonable that he would take over as Howard's master.
