I know of a couple of effects on the body but I did a search for Nutritional value water however the results weren't exactly what I was looking for. Does anyone know of a good site with why water is essential and how it helps our body's? This is for my Health class Edit:Also I have looked around the public library, but the only books are 1 page childrens books
Since I used the site above, is this considered plagarism?(Please feel free to point out any errors) Water Water, by definition, is a combination of hydrogen and oxygen(H20), and is the basis of the fluids in the human body. Water can be obtained from most of the foods we eat, but not all, like crackers. The foods, that do contain water, are around 85% to 95% water. Our bodies obtain some water from the by-products of metabolism. However our body's main source of water comes from drinking water, which is obviously the best source. Alcoholic beverages and beverages containing caffine are not the good choices for water since they have a diuretic effect Almost two-thirds of the weight of the human body is made up of water. Without water for more than days, one would die of dehydration. For all of the cell's and organ's to function properly, water is needed. Water acts as lubricant, the most basic part of saliva, and it also helps cushion joints. Also, it is our body's air condition and heater as it is distributed as sweat. Water helps preventing constipation by regulating food traveling through the intestinal track. Most studies show that a person should consume at least 6-8 glasses of water, depending on their size and weight.
When you say, "Without water for more than days, one would die of dehydration." where you going to be specific on the number of days??
Hehe...who told you that? Sounds like a genius to me. As for Azarde's paper, I put it on Microsoft word and made it check it. (under Formal grammar.) Hey, I'm too lazy. Here's what it came up with: Caffeine's misspelled Cell's and organ's should be without the ' You can delete the "also" in "also helps cushion Put a , after "However" Change "Also," to "In addition," Man, its picky. It also says you have a passive voice, but I don't worry much about that. I'm sure you meant major errors in the paper, and not grammar errors, but those are some anyway.
I wouldn't be too worried. I've typed several papers on MW, and there are several "passive voices." I just skip them and turn it in. I don't get marked for PV's, and I usually get a good grade. (and that's in English class, not Health.) Hopefully your Health teacher isn't a former college English professor.
It does beg the question, what would happen if alien lifeforms decided to dehydrate the planet with a giant dehydrator.
