It's from last Halloween.. so I don't know how much a guy can gain in the two months since the season ended.
Cousins body fat is supposedly improved If you watch his interview on draft express at the combine he says he is working out hard everyday from 8-4. And yet body-fat percentage is at 16.4 the second fattest prospects ever to enter the draft and recorded at a combine. Compare his size which everyone raves about and you will Larry Sanders is remarkably similar except the weight and body fat are drastically different. Weight 227 vs 292, body fat 4.6 vs 16.4 If you switched those numbers Sanders would be the bigger guy. WHile Sanders will never weigh what Cousins does most experts believ his frame could easily handle another 20 pounds. Which would make him a real force in the middle. Especially if he can maintain his body fat % while doing so. Did I mention I really like Larry Sanders.
I COPIED Orton's twitter message, there is no need to correct the grammar and teach me that the right word is "touched". But thanks for the rep anyways...
The picture was from last year's Halloween at the Kentucky radio station. Here is a comparison between the March 25th game at Cornell and May 20th/21st draft combine.
Orton, Udoh, Whiteside, and Aldrich have been doing group workouts together for the most part. Whiteside stated that in his interview with the Kings. Some have missed certain locations but they probably will all be there. I assume they will probably be at West side tennis club today or the Toyota center practice facility.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Morey trade back a few picks and get Sanders plus an additional asset. I do like Udoh though, watched him play alot this last season and he could help the rockets right away.
(Avery) Bradley has worked out for nine NBA teams (Miami, Oklahoma City, Toronto, Boston, Houston, Indiana, Utah, Detroit, LA Clippers) already. 2010-06-13 23:10:02 http://www.draftexpress.com/twitter.php
I've been thinking lately that Bradley could possibly end up being the "surprise pick" at #14. The Rockets really don't have a quality perimeter player between the "6-foot and under" category (Brooks, Lowry) and the "6-7+ lanky" category (Martin, Ariza, Budinger), other than Taylor, who is nowhere near the prospect that Bradley is. Avery has the potential to be the best perimeter defender in the draft. He also has a nice stroke that, with a little work, will make him a very solid combo guard off the bench. He's only 19 and will have time to develop on a Rockets team with quality players (albeit not superstars) at every position. The bottom line is that, if Bradley is Morey's highest graded player on the board at #14, the Rockets will take him over other "bigs". That is, if Bradley isn't taken at #13 by Toronto. (BTW, I think Toronto desperately needs a guy like Bradley.)
Yeah, was thinkin the same thing. Larry Sanders also will benefit from better coaching in the NBA. He's my Sleeper for the whole draft.
Bradley has apparently sprained his ankle (per Draft Express) and will not do any more workouts. How that affects his stock, remains to be seen. I'm not terribly excited about Bradley since I have a very strong dislike for undersized 2's who really can't play the 1(at least in the NBA). Does anybody know anything about Bradley's growth pattern? Is he done growing or could he still grow another inch or two?
Did he sprain his ankle or did he "sprain his ankle"? i.e., "We're gonna draft you, you don't want to play for Golden State or Utah, right? Okay, tell the media you sprained your ankle."
He is very undersized for a two guard. Incredible athlete, but will be tough for him to find a position to play.
Not a fan of Bradley's at 14. He may be able to hook on somewhere as a defender/3 point specialist, but that's all he is at the moment. At 6'3 and SG, he may not even be much of a 3 point specialist in the NBA. I would say his other skills are way under developed and he'll need a lot of D League time.
I think many NBA front offices view Bradley as a someone capable of playing both guard spots. Plus, he has a fairly good wingspan for a guy his height, which is a more accurate measure of a player's ability to defend a position than simply height. He's got the wingspan of a guy who's 6-5 or 6-6. He was also one of the top prospects in the country coming out of high school, so there are those who think his overall (potential) skill level may just be too high to pass up. Also, regarding his "sprained ankle", I would think it is legit, since he was still scheduled to work out for Memphis (#12) and Toronto (#13), two teams on the high end of his draft range.
He can defend the two no problem. I just don't think wing span helps too much at shooting threes when a hand is in your face. He will be guarded very easliy in the NBA as he is basically Shane Battier, but shorter with less accuracy on his shot. I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe NBA Front Offices think Bradley can play point guard....unless your shooting guard is Kobe, Lebron, or Wade. Bradley would be devastating as a defensive 1, but would need a superstar at the two to handle the ball.
His wingspan and reach are still below average for a 2. I'm a strong advocate of drafting the best player available so I won't complain if Morey takes him. However, if let's say Aldrich or Davis and Bradley are still available and Morey has Bradley ranked just a bit higher (like 810/1000 against 799/1000), I would like him to take the big guy. Bradley's ceiling will probably be, as you said, a scoring combo guard who can defend PG's, and that is a bench player on a good team.
Bradley cannot play point guard. His handles are weak and he doesn't have a great first step nor enough upper body strength to overcome his size disadvantage. Mo Peterson Version 2. Willie Warren and Elliot Williams are way better athletes as combo guards and they've shown that they could create off the dribble in college. I believe these two will be the better NBA players.
Good vid. Interesting to hear that his favorite player is KG, hopefully without the personality. We could use a KG-skillset type of player alongside Yao next year.
