I think Yao will do even better now that he is more comfortable and knows how the US team plays..

    21 pts, 13 rebs, 4 blks, 2 steals, 3 assist, 1 3 pointer

I think his blocks will go down because fools like Antonio Davis, Wallace, Lafrenz and Jermaine O'neal will not challenge him as much...

I think Yao is great but I also think the US will double him more and work hard to keep the ball out of his hands as they did the the 2nd half.

The problem is the USA has nothing to worry about with the other Chinese players so they will key on Yao.

    10 pts, 8 rebs, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 blks, 4 turnovers.

Uh...wasn't Yao the one they should have focused on yesterday from the start? If I remember correctly, it wasn't so much of the US keeping the ball away from Yao, but Yao's teammates keeping the ball from Yao. Bad shots, missed shots, and turnovers were a big part of China's game. I saw Ming cut, and was wide open for a layup, but the guy didn't pass to him.

Is Wang going to play in any of these? If he does, he may help a little. I said a little, not a lot.

All this said, I think Yao may have a slightly worse game. Maybe. I'm taking in consideration that he will be coming off several games, and the US will have better chemistry and not care so much about a good show than playing a good game. (ok, maybe they will put on some show. ;) )

    Let me try this:

    11pts, 9rbs, 3blks, 2ast,1stl, 3to's

He could get more, seeing as how he always seems to suprise me. (hint, hint. ;) ;) )

Not sure, but he'll have more rebounds. The US team will be jacking it
up (they don't want to get blocked).

    i'd say 11-9-3

even though the US bigmen were attacking yao they were not playing solid ball. they were playing to embarrass him. this time they will play for real.

15-10-3. It's reasonable to expect Yao to make a lil progress. His blocks will go down for reasons mentioned above.

I'll keep my expectations low. Yao will be doubled all game by big, nasty dudes.

    13 pts

    10 boards

    3 assists

    5 blocks

7 giant bruises, 1 concussion, 3 chipped teeth...

I think 15 and 10 is pretty reasonable but even though he completely deserves the starting spot, Cato will probably get most of the minutes.

Uhh...Cato's not on the China NT. This is a prediction for the Aug.31 game.

I think all these prediction threads are making us crazy.

don't be high on him, as I said in other thread, China play US the last in group C and it is 3 games in 3 days, China might working ass off to try to win over Germany and the other country, because they have much more chance advance by beating those two than beating US, so Ming will be tired and might not play long in the game aginst US. I think they will rest him for next round if they do win the first two.

Yours is close to mine. I put this:

You had 1pt and 2rbs less, but I had 1blk and 2ast less. I guess the wild card goes to TO, which I had less in. (hehe.) I win. :D
