He was spectacular, he and Cherundulo, and Demerit.....Clark...not so much....

I thought the USA did great, they played a fairly even match, had some chances, stopped some, and held their own.

For the first time in YEARS, they looked like they belonged on that pitch.

I am hopeful for getting through......maybe if we score enough even winning the group.

I think he was our lone bright spot on Defense.

I did, we looked bad until the game against Egypt....and then Spain outplayed us but we scored, the best we looked was the first half against Brazil in the final, but the 2nd half, not so much.

Twas an interesting game. Clark is severely overrated and Onyewu started off slow but really picked up in the second half. It was good to see the whole team pick up their game after half to counter the English push. While the first half was hit and miss I was amazed at how much control of the ball we had. I can't remember us ever really holding the ball and allowing the offense to build up like we did for part of the half.

People can piss and moan about how boring soccer can be, but if you're American and recognize how much drawing England in the world cup would actually mean then there's no way you could call that anything but exciting.

    Good game.
    Good result.

USA defense was porous, I don't think that will get it done if they play that kind of defense. Their midfield and their passing game is pretty good, Altidore is an awesome talent I have a lot of hope for him in this tournament, and Bradley saved us multiple times and made up for a lot of defensive mistakes.

This team looked and played like that Confederate Cup team from last year, and there is still room for improvement. I am psyched about our squad this year.

Bradley also gave the ball up a TON. I did not think the passing from the midfield was very good outside of Donovan. England was crisp and precise, it seemed like the US could not string together more than a couple passes at a time

We really need someone other than Findley though, I mean Davies would be HUGE if healthy.

Can Gomez fill that role? Does he have that pace?

First game jittery. I like it slow. This is a tourney, not a playoff series. A tie with England in a competitive match, I take that on any day.

WHat was all this talk about Findley's speed I was hearing about before the game? He got beat to a lot of balls. On that fast break, he had 3 steps on the defender who caught up with him in the box and took the ball away.

Seriously he has played a lot better, but he seemed to run out of gas pretty quickly.

I don't think you can play Buddle and Altidore up front.....maybe Findley will be better in the next match.

I think it wouldda been nice to have had Ching out there today considering how they were unable to capitalize on any set pieces

    Yeah, agreed.

Honestly, I like Gomez, he has been scoring but I wish we had room for Torres in the midfield, he is so good and creative with the ball.
