Has anyone sat close to the railings in the upper bowl seats?

These are as prime as it gets in the Upper Bow, as long as the obstructions are not that bad.

The 210 blue dot is Row B. How much is the front railing in the way?

The 232 blue dot is Row D, but it has the stairway tunnel railings to the left, that I'm worried about. Notice Row C is the front row of 231.

Any comments are greatly appreciated. I have to decide rather quickly.

btw Tim: is the new stadium going to have obstructing railings? Or are you planning on plexiglass like Minute Maid Park?

I sat in similar seats in 214 and the railings on row a are kind in the way, but still not bad.....row b are not that obstructed.....my advice is to demand an entry with your ticket rep into compaq center asap. I did this last year when i changed sections...I got entry with my rep and got to handpick my seat......

I would not buy until I tried!!!!!! They can block your potential selections for a few hours while you get down there to check it out....

The rails are flat and tilted to minimize any obstruction. They are however in the way a bit. Shooting from memory here, Row a, they are in the way (but you do have footrest). You will want to sink low to see under them. Row b, slightly in the way, you will sit tall to see over them. I suspect they disapear after a few games. Row c, clear.

Have you ever witnessed the Row 4 across from the stairwell rail....my other blue dot in 232. If it is an obstruction, that would be a vertical one covering the corner...so you could move forward or back. Plus there's zero obstruction for much of the floor.

You know the 231 rail I'm talking about. 231 starts in row C. So as you come out of the stairs, there is like a 4 foot wall that Row C sits atop of, and it has a rail, too. I'd be across the aisle from that, one row up.

Montgo is right ... call your rep, and they'll be happy to set up a time where you can go look at the seats in person and make your own call. It's sometimes hard to judge railings -- everybody is a different height, and everybody sits differently -- but taking a look in person should clear it up. We do it all the time.

Very good question about the railings for the new building. I'll have to get back to you on that one after some quick checking.

Okay, here's the story on upper bowl railings at the new arena, from the team in charge of building our future home:

There will be an 18" concrete barrier (knee-height, so no obstruction) topped with a 2-foot glass extension.

Should make for great sight lines.
