I might have been too distracted watching Rosie Perez do Tae Bo to Public Enemy and the cop choke the black guy to death.
Just to clarify...I honestly don't make any kind of a deal out of this. It's just a pet peeve when I come across it. It had happened just before I posted. I post here a lot. It's my go-to place to BS. I don't vomit blood or go into a fighting stance when this happens. I just feel that it's a passive-aggressive attempt at insult. Further, I can't stand p*****s. Stand up for what you believe in. I get along well, and I mean, well, with 99.9% of the populace. I make a point of being a positive person and trying to see the positive side of people and things. I'm usually a peacemaker when things get hot. I like people. I'm 6'1 - this is taller than most people. I carry myself with confidence and direction. I don't do it to elicit any kind of response. It's my personality.
I call men chief often when I can't remember their names. My uncle used to call me chief when I was a boy and I can't even fathom it being an insult..cause that means I have been unwittingly insulting people for years.
Way to stick it to those "p*****s" by posting about your anger on an anonymous message board, "chief!" What other pet peeves do you have that you want to share with us, Billy Badass? Can't wait to hear!
There's a really nice older guy who works nights at the Whataburger drive thru by my apartment, and he always addresses me as "champ", "chief", "cap'n", "boss", etc. Not that I necessarily consider it a compliment, but it's clearly not derogatory.
