Wolves for their pick. I don't want any of their players other than Love or Rubio.

But you are getting the #2 pick for a cheap salary. Years ago you'd spend $100,000,000 on a guy that hasn't stepped foot on the hardwood. So you have to think of like paying Brand's salary for a young draft stud that you may never get a chance to pick up - ever. You just need to make sure you spend that money on a Kevin Durant pick and not a Hasheem Thabeet pick.

I doubt Morey would take on that kind of contract. 2 years maybe (expires next year), but not 3.

Sorry - I when I saw him talking Brand I was assuming he was talking about the Brand and the #2 pick. I need to read a little closer.

Al Jefferson will be a beast again, I guarantee it. How old is he again? 23/24?

Hey Clutchfans. First time poster, been reading for a while now.

I was thinking of a trade options for the Rockets this summer that are actually possible. One trade i thought of that i proofed on the trade machine was this.

    Houston gets

    Al Jefferson
    Rights to Ricky Rubio
    Minnesota 2010 pick 23

    Minnesota gets

    Anthony Randolph
    Jordan Hill
    Jared Jeffries
    New Yorks 2012 protected pick

    Golden State gets
    Ryan Hollins
    Houston 2010 pick 14
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Why Houston does it
    -Rights to Rubio
-Al Jefferson offers us a star big body who was injured last year and improved
later in the year when he was healthy. Text book buy low candidate.
-Al provides us a center while Yao gets his bench minutes.
    -We keep are core intact
-We still keep some assets. (Budinger, Sergio Llull, New York pick swap)
-Although we don't have the 14th pick, we only move down 9 slots.
Worries would be Al's health record, but the same could be said about Martin

    Why Minnesota does it
-They get Randolph, a player they have recently showed interest.
-They get Jordan Hill, a legit big man prospect who has shown he can play.
    -Jeffries huge expiring contract
-They the New York 2012 pick, the next best thing to a mulligan for the Rubio pick
-They currently have 3 1st round picks, so letting one go this year isnt a big deal

    Why Golden State does this
-The Warriors also get a mulligan for what they see as a failed pick in Randolph in the Rox 1st pick this year (same spot Randolph was taken)
-They free up minutes for a coach favorite Brandan Wright
Golden State is more of a facilitator in this trade.

GS Would be nice. Biedrins is a dream backup center. I know he had a weak season, but he can bounce back with the right coach and system.

New Orleans----- CP3 .....Y.. :p Brooks comes off the bench as back up Shooting Guard. The back up FIVE will be playing an uptempo game! (the Adelman way). The starting five will play the traditional big man game. :p

Very much agreed. He can run the floor, rebound, and protect the rim. I really like his skillset for our second unit.

Doesn't he make a boatload of money though?

As for Al Jefferson, I would pass because he doesn't do any of the things I mentioned above. Is he typically an elite interior offensive player? Yes, of course. But defense and rebounding was our problem last season, not scoring... and I don't believe that our ALL of our defensive woes will be solved by a (hopefully) healed and healthy Yao.

We've needed a true shot blocker for years now, and not one that was in his 40's. I'm not knocking on Mt. Mutombo, the man. He was absolutely invaluable to our team in '08 - '09, simply because of his presence. But we need a shotblocking, uptempo big that can play more than 8 and 1/2 minutes a night and isn't almost useless on offense.

If Al Jefferson ain't scoring, he is useless. His D isn't good enough.

    AB
    KM
    Al
    Scola
    Ariza

    = horrible D

But to get Rubio, maybe but I rather have Love than Al.
