just realized that realGM.com ranks NBA players based on their performents last season and has Steve #19 in the league. I wanted to know who's the 18 players ahead of Steve and at the end found their #1-#75. #1 Duncan...last season's MVP but Shaq still more donminate #2 Shaq #3 K.G. #4 CWebb #5 T-Mac #6 Nowitzki #7 Payton #8 Brand #9 A. Miller better than Kidd? 10 Pierce 11 Kobe 12 Kidd 13 Malone 14 Iverson 15 Ben Wallace why the media so high on him 16 Marion 17 S.A.R. 18 A. Walker 19 Francis because the injuries? 20 Gasol 21 J. O'Neal 22 Cassell 23 B. Barry 24 ? I think they have B. Davis here but I couldn't find his profile 25 Stockton 26 Nash 27 R. Allen 28 R. Wallace 29 Carter 30 Marbury 31 M.J. still better than Cat 32 Peja 33 G. Hill 34 J. Terry 35 Brandon 36 ? 37 Finley 38 G. Robinson 39 Lewis 40 Mutombo 41 J. Rose 42 Stackhouse 43 Szczerbiak 44 D. Robinson 45 Van Exel 46 E. Jones 47 Camby 48 Jamison 49 Divac 50 B. Miller 51 Mourning 52 A. Davis 53 Marshall 54 A. Mason 55 Coleman 56 Mobley that shows what a small market Houston is! 58 LaFrentz 61 Wells 70 Kenny Thomas 73 Odom 75 Pippen 125 Cato 144 Norris 156 Griffin 166 R. Jefferson
That list sucks. How can Miller be in the top ten? How the heck is Brand number 8? Francis should be in the top 10!
Steve should be in the top 15. I can't believe that Cat's that low. Where's the respect? He should at least be before Sczerbiak and Finley. WTF? I guess when we win more they'll move up.
Brent Barry at 23??? WTF??? how's he better than baron davis, vince carter, ray allen, rasheed wallace, peja, terry, finley, eddie jones, mourning, jamison, odom........oh, and how is cato better than eddie griffin??? isn't this THIS years rankings, not last years stats.
those rankings make no sense no matter what they're based on. even just fantasy statistics, it's completely out of whack. if it's an actual list of the best players how would kobe be 11, kidd 12, francis 19, etc. fantasy-wise as well, those 3 are easy top 10 statistically. it just looks like someone randomly threw names on there.
If this is based on last year's play, a lot of these players' rankings make a little sense. This couldn't possibly be realGM's opinion on a grandeur scale! Come on! Francis was injured and didn't have a great year, so if it's based on last season's performance, he still deserves top 15. Same for Vince Carter, but he's even further at @29 (Brent Barry is rated higher....BS!). Oh and Mobley got snubbed. No way he's down towards 70! On any given night, he's one of the top 35 players in the league, and this list being based on the 2001-2002 season, something must be WAY off because, in a way, Mobley had a break-out year. It's nice to see KT on that list though. Pretty soon, we'll have 4 or 5 players on that list, pending some retirements and shifts in power. I expect Francis in the top 5, Mobley, top 15, Griffin and Ming in the top 30. It never hurts to dream anyway!
though I disagree many of their ranking, I have to admit that: 1.) Cato was more productive LAST SEASON than Griffin 2.) Brent Barry did has a break out year 3.) Francis had a bad year (career low in FG%, FT%, assist, offensive rebound, steal, and games played) and imo, Mobley will never be a top 15
how does it even work for last year? kidd not in the top 5, behind andre friggin miller. and for the last 4 years kobe hasn't been out of the top 5 let onlone 11. pierce only at 10, behind brand? karl malone in the top 15? it goes on and on. it's just retarted.
Thankfully I can say that I never did respect real gm . I wonder where they'll rank Ming next year though, probably behind Chris Antsey, lol.
