I've been tasked with finding a suitable internet filtering program for about 600 PCs. The main thing it needs to filter is p*rn. The catch is that it's for medical PCs so it can't filter what some may consider sexually sensitive stuff like STDs, etc.

Anyone have any experience with this?

On the other side, are there any people here who are filtered? If so, what program and is it too much?

    That looks good...

I forgot to mention that these PCs are on a VLAN that I have no control over.

So, you own the machines but not the network? You could look at a proxy server along with DNS filtering.

Looks good, but it's not Windows based, unfortunately.

Ideally it would all be on the network. Unfortunately we're at the mercy of a completely different organization and their network guys, who kind of do whatever they want without letting anyone know. For example, they closed a bunch of 'holes' in their firewall last week that brought an app that is central to our usage down for days. No documentation, and even their head honchos had no clue, so no change controls.

Given all that crap, we're trying to minimize what kind of effect the network could have on any kind of solution we use.
