the music varied. but i honestly didn't care about the music because I was just partying to every song no matter what it was just like everyone else. We were all going crazy in the pit. It was a ton of fun. He's a fun live act.

I see things like this and it makes me think I am missing something. I got this album the first day it came out, tried to listen to it, hated it and turned it off, took a break, tried again, rinse, repeat.

It is just as bad everytime, and I do not understand what people hear in this abortion of an album. It is an hour of heavily distorted feedback.

Bun is definitely a better rapper. I thought he was good. I like that he played a lot of UGK stuff, but thought it was a little weird how he was rapping Pimp Cs lines. I guess if anyone is allowed to do it, it is him.

I think Slim Thug worked the stage a little better and gave a better performance. He looks like a performer, while Bun just kinda looked fat.

ive been a flaming lips fan for almost 20 years now and i have to agree w/ you - embryonic is not that good - its a bunch of plodding, noodling jams devoid of any sense of melody. the album was all written in jam sessions, so it makes sense that it would sound like this, but still... i gave this album more than an honest chance and i cant get into it. and their last album was dissaapointing too (at war w/ the mystics).

they will always be firmly entrenched in my short list of favorite bands ever and they still put on a great show, but their best days are clearly behind them. but if you think about it, not too many bands have pulled off a run like clouds taste metallic (96) - soft bulletin (99) - yoshimi (02) - all perfect 10's imo and all totally different. but they lost something after that.

At War with the Mystics has a few amazing songs but most of it is eh. Yoshimi got me into the band and I absolutely love it. Soft Bulletin I listened to next and its even better. I wouldn't say Clouds Taste Metallic is a 10 but its real good. Transmissions from the Satellite Heart is pretty good too. I haven't listened to anything earlier than that though.

So yeah, compared to those, At War With the Mystics (Though theres a few great songs on here, and they only played my favorites from it) and Embryonic (And they played way too much from this album, I would say its alright since its their newest, but its a festival show and they havent been here since 2002 so some Soft Bulletin stuff or more Yoshimi would have been nice) are both disappointments, though I don't hate Embryonic completely.
