We have been compared to Ziggy Stardust era Bowie, T-Rex and the musical parts of Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you go to Youtube and type our name in there is a good deal of video footage from various shows

Just checked it out, not bad. Also saw you're playing that boomtown festival here in Beaumont. I've been thinking about going to that, if I do I'll check you guys out there for sure.

I'll say 'hi' when I see you... which is quite often.

FPSF starts today! Who is going? I'm a little surprised to see they've added 2 stages. Wild Moccasins, Eastern Sea, and Caddywhompus should be great. Day 2 is definitely the Money Day, though.

Cool. That's probably my most anticipated show of the weekend. I hope to see yall there.

    Your advice is duly noted.

There was barely a security check last year... hope it stays that way.

An iPhone post from the inside would be much appreciated.

They won't even let you bring your own water this year. They promise free water, but last year all they had was Vitamin Water...annnd they ran out of it (if that happens this year, I will be pretty annoyed).

It's going to be a hot day, bring sunscreen and stay hydrated!

I'd tell everyone to look for a dark haired female with jean shorts and a white tank top with colored stripes, but i'mma guess I'll have at least 30 doppelgangers.

Just got home. It looks like the Day 1 and Day 2 schedules are night and day, with Day 2 being much stronger. I'm not too much of a Girl Talk guy, so I went to take my out of town friends to Goode Company instead.

The band Medeski Martin and Wood killed it for me. Their atonal jam band music really seemed to turn off the crowd and there's no reason they should have gotten a 90 minute set on the main stage when promising local bands like the Wild Mocassins had 2:30 p.m., 25 minute sets. I spoke with Fat Tony before the festival opened and he was pretty upset that they were not letting people in until 2 p.m. and his set was at 2:05. The gates were much faster than last year, but that was still pretty bad of them to open them 5 minutes before the shows started when they should have known that the gates would be clogged.

MMW is a very good band, but there's a time and a place. When they play ACL, it always seems to be the 7:30 show as the sun goes down. It's a great way to chill out before the headliner for that night. They were the one on the lineup for this weekend that didn't seem to fit.

I went with the Web site guys tonight. Spent a lot of time meeting people and signing them up for GetGouby.com . If you saw a giant frog with a cape out there, that was us. Come by and say hi if you're out there tomorrow. Our tent got trashed by the wind, but we'll be back.

Looking forward to seeing Cro-Mags, Municipal Waste, the Hates, and Slim and Bun tomorrow evening. Flaming Lips, too.

    I like MM&W, they were groove-tastic.

Girltalk was a surprise man, they ripped some **** off, starting out with a Chopped and Screwed version of "I Gotta Feeling" was a nice tough.

a lot of people in the crowd afterward seemed stunned too at just how awesome that show was, because I had heard his live gigs were less than stellar, if not lackluster.

Didn't go today, but will for sure be there tomorrow evenning for the Lips. Will likely get highly intoxicated off of margaritas at one of our local tex-mex homes before heading over to the fest.

    Who I saw and opinions

Wild Moccasins- These guys were great. I had heard great things so I made them a priority, and I liked them a lot. My friends told me they liked them too. Bought their new album while there

Mix Master Mike- Before the show, I never cared too much about this set. I knew he was part of the Beastie Boys (which is awesome) but didn't know what to expect, and figured I'd catch a bit then move on to another stage depending on whether i liked it or not. Well, I ended up having a ton of fun and staying the whole time. I actually had room to move in the pit unlike Girl Talk (get to later), and also had an awesome dancing guy right next to my that had killer moves. Also got to sing Bohemian Rhapsody with a huge group of people. Awesome. Fun set.

Medeski Martin and Wood- Went back and sat on the hill for this. Not a big jazz guy, and really it ended up being incredibly boring to me. Ended up getting a drink and exploring the place after a little bit. Me and my friends all wanted a break after MMM so we all chilled out for this one. Their set was way too long. Someone mentioned they are good before a headliner. Give them a shorter set and I think that may be true. But 90 minute set in the middle of the day? eh

Ra Ra Riot- This is one of the bands I wanted to see most of the whole thing, and they were GREAT. Sounded just as good as they do on album, and they all looked like they were having fun. Made me excited for the new album.

Golden Axe- Was at volleyball field to the left playing frisbee. Just heard in background. Not a metal person.

Kid Sister- Also to the side for most of this set, but I actually listened more, and did walk up for the end of it. I'm not a huge rap person but she was actually pretty good. Got crowd moving, sounded alright, really she was pretty good choice for this festival.

Detroit Cobras- Maybe because I was ready to see Girl Talk, but these guys sucked. They didn't sound terrible I suppose, but they weren't very interesting and the lead singer honestly seemed kind of like a b**** (maybe I'm wrong though). Seemed like she didnt want to be there or something.

Girl Talk- Wow. This one was crazy. I was almost front row by now, and I had hardly any room to move. I could barely even jump and stuff like that. Kept getting pushed forward and backwards. It was a ton of fun at first, but as it went on I got very tired out. It had already been a long day and this was even crazier. It seemed to go on forever because of that. I could barely see what was going on too. Don't know how I made it through the whole set (2 of my friends quit with about 30 minutes to go and went and sat back somewhere)

Overall- Ton of fun. Can't wait for some of the bands today (Flaming Lips!). There were a ton of people out there too which impressed me, I hope this festival gets bigger and attracts even more huge artists (while keeping the local theme though). Very exhausting day though, but today there doesnt seem like theres a whole lot of dancing artists like mix master mike or girl talk so it wont be as bad. Also only stuck to the main stage for most of the day, my friends usually didnt feel like checking out the other stages though.

Houston has a legit festival. Hell yes
