New mix I made of David Andersen. Most people don't like him and think he sucks (I'm one of those people) but I could see improvement throughout the season. We can hope Andersen improves more, and I can see some potential. He is a versatile big man which is hard to come by in the NBA. He can shoot the 3 and occasionally have a powerful dunk. Please give feedback on how you liked the video.

-If you would like to request a highlight mix please say so in the reply section.

-People who try to watch the video soon after I post this thread may experience bad quality because it has only recently been uploaded.

    :)

I don't think he sucks, I just think he isn't a primary back up center. He'd be a good secondary back-up and part-time primary back-up if, hopefully not when, Yao is hurt once again.

    Still need more size though.

I can see him playing effectively next to Yao as backup at PF position. The question is still his defense though.

    I don't have a problem with Andersen.

Some fans just had unrealistic expectations when the Rockets acquired him. Same thing with Ariza.

When the entire team is together next season and everyone can play their roles, we'll really see how the pieces were supposed to fit.

He might be able to get by as a back up center but he's much more perimeter oriented. I really like his game - back to the basket moves and passing out of the paint. He definitely needs to get on the boards a bit more. I think it's just a matter of confidence and hope he will pan out next year.

Andersen is okay, but he's just not what this team needs. He doesn't have a post presence nor is he a shot blocker. If he was brought in to be a forward, then fine. But if he's our backup center, then I think we're in trouble.

He needs to get physically stronger without losing speed. If he can improve on rebounding and handle contact, hold position to some extent,he will make it.
Center is not his position as others have correctly pointed out.

Scola and Hayes aren't shot blockers either. Let's ship them out, too...

From Chilcutt and Bullard to Padgett and Novak, there's always been a jump shooting big man on the team, and it is probably not gonna change anytime soon.

I doubt anyone expected Andersen to be a shot blocker except for a few misguided fans. He is there to shoot and stretch the defense.

I don't think the plan next year is for him to be our backup C. He was this year out of necessity. Same thing with Hayes. Both will probably spend more time at the 4 next season with Hill and whoever Morey brings in backing up Yao.

I don't think he has a position, in the NBA.

He is a good offensive player, he just has zero defense...

it never hurts having a player that can spread the floor. especially a c/pf. example of the game last night i know posey and eddie house arent big men, but that was a key for boston in their 2008 run spreading the floor with 3point shooters.

He's going to have a easier time with Yao back.

All he need is improving his defense. His mid range and three pointers are real weapons.
