That was him then, look at him now. Wanting to bulk up and become a semi-power center.

If he loses weight and regains his rookie-year quickness, then yes. But at the moment. No.

Good for Howard. Hakeem can teach him better footwork.

Haha I can imagine the opposing defender busting out and laughing hard when Chuck tries a post move let alone the dream shake.

He has played SF before. I think there was an "official" move of him to SF for part of one of the years where Eddie Jones was on the Lakers. I remember it because Kobe grabbed like 10 rebounds in his first game starting at SF and continued to rebound well in the following weeks as well.

Yao actually does have pretty good footwork. He wouldn't have such a smooth fadeaway otherwise. Unfortunately he's so big that he can't switch directions very easily. So he scores by getting the defender to lean the wrong way and then shooting an open shot, rather than dancing through the defense the way Dream could.

Howard should learn the jump hook from Dream. There's no way he'll master the fadeaway. Right now Howard shoots his hook by driving with big steps through the lane the way Ewing did. That takes a lot more energy than the quick hook Dream often shot immediately after receiving the ball, especially in his later years.

Heck yes....he has the speed and quickness to utilize those moves.....so does D. Howard, which is scary...but Hill could really really use em.

Yao is too slow to really take advantage of Dream's moves....but Hill...and Scola...yes.

    Laugh.

Howard won't learn anything from Hakeem. He isn't that bright of a guy.

The real question is....where will they be working out at....? Is Dream gonna bring him to where he started, at Fonde Recreation center? If thats the case, I'd love to be there.

Howard has no touch in his hands. He is no more capable of learning the dream shake than I am of doing a between the legs dunk if Vince Carter spends a few weeks trying to teach me. Some gifts are just god given and Howard does not have those gifts. Not necessarily a knock on Howard I think he's a great player but Dream is a once in a generation talent.

Have you ever heard Hakeem talk about basketball? He is very adamant that basketball is a big man's game - first and foremost. By (trying to) teach all these bigs some of his tricks, he's trying to help the game itself, not just the Houston Rockets. That's just who he is.

I can just see him cringing while watching today's NBA, where the 2's and 3's rule the game and 99% of the big men are just STIFFS trying to stay out of foul trouble and the other 1% are camped out at the 3-point line.

lol it would be unfair to the league if yao had dream's quickness and footwork

but i agree 100% with hill. he has the athleticism and TOUCH to be great in the post. we need to send him to dream's big man camp. sure he needs to put on some muscles but FOOTWORK FOOTWORK FOOTWORK should be his #1 priority this offseason.

Yeah, I have been a proponent of this for some time now. Jordan Hill, like Hakeem, started playing basketball relatively late (late teens), too.

    Why?

He has as much chance of learning anything from dream as Brian Cardinal would Magic Johnson.

yao's moves are already unstoppable. there's more of a need of being able to get him the ball at the right spots. hill on the other hand could DEFINITELY use hakeem's tricks.

Great move! This should improve Hakeem's athleticism.

Howard might be athletic b/c he can jump high, but he's too bulky and a little stiff to be able to imitate Hakeem's moves. Dream's moves were fluid and graceful....Dwight Howard is all about powering his way through defenders.
