Yeah, I guess that can go both ways. Either Boston can start playing ok and steal it, or LA can pump the gas and take off. I bet on the latter.
That was a dangerous play by Allen... how can you just undercut a jumpshooter and not get called for a foul. Dirty antics by Ray Allen.... reminds me of Bruce Bowen. You could see Kobe limping after he got up....
Gasol playing GREAT defense. Artest just made a three. Fisher just made a good decision pass. All this, and Kobe hasn't gone off yet. Looks like LA taking game 1 so far.
LA playing, more or less, perfect basketball. Celts, not so much, and they're down by 9. Rivers better fire his team up, or else LA leads 1-0 by the end of the night.
When you've got Mark "monotone" Jackson and Mike Breen as your commentator colleagues, I would try to be funny too.
I wouldn't take too much by this half, or game - with the way Crawford is running the ship, no one can really get into an offensive flow. The two mini-Laker runs (last minute of Q1, 2:30 in Q2) came off freak Celtics turnovers in the backcourt and a rare Artest three. Other than that, very choppy, back and forth. The one thing that does surprise me and I do take out of the first half is how effective Gasol has been on defense. He's usually good at using his length going straight up, but awkward in terms of timing his blocks. If he can protect the basket from Rondo the way he did in the first half, Celtics are going to have trouble scoring enough to win this series, because they simply don't have the athletes to go 1 on 1 if system breaks down.
