Probably BS, but this is pretty much a steal for the Rockets. The #6 pick in a deep draft for at best the #6 pick two years from now, along with Anthony Randolph, a true talent, for the #14 pick which, while valuable, is nowhere near Randolph's value. Then we throw in Budinger who is a dime-a-dozen player as sweetener? Yeah, that's a done deal.

Id do it too if Demarcus Cousins falls to number 6. Heck I still might do it because it seems like every team will be putting all their eggs in the Bosh basket and we might be better served finding someone a little more low key on other peoples list like a Dirk Nowitzki, Amare, Joe Johnson, or the 6th pick. Everyone it seems is concentrating on Bush, Lebron, Wade and i think this is the perfect opportunity to swoop up someone else who isnt one of those guys real quick while everyone is distracted with these other guys. Because once tghey are off the board everyone will concentrate on the other guys. We can spend that time getting the other players or one of them while everyone else is concentrating on these guys we quit frankly have little chance of getting like all other teams who want them.

They have to be asking for more. I would do it in a heartbeat.. Who says that those sign and trade teams dont want the 6th pick more than our fourth pick? Also who says you cant trade Budinger then also make another trade to still get Bosh?

Great deal? How so? Giving up 2 lottery picks and Bud for a mediocre player from a terrible team? Seems pretty cut and dry to me

Then you draft Greg Monroe. The real Yao Ming replacement and backup player or strating powerforward and 6,11 and put him next to Yao.

Giving up a low lottery pick and a mediocre player from a lottery team for a lot more talented player with higher upside and an even higher lottery pick.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

I thought there was a sayin on here that never believe what people post during the offseason because guys would make up stuff. I mean i was watchin NBA TV all day and haven't seen anything about this. Nothin on espn.com or realgm.com So idk what this is all about.

Maybe its official because the thread hasn't been locked yet.

Thinking this wasn't legit but saying it was, you are Not giving up two lotto picks and Bud! You trade the 14th for the 6th pick this season, a POTENTIAL lotto pick in 2012 which truth be told shouldn't be after they acquire some talent and Bud for Randolph...pretty fair to me after you consider it.

Move up 8 spots in the draft to acquire Monroe, Johnson or Cousins.

Lose a pick that will probably be mid to late 1st 2 season from now.

Budinger for Randolph, risk but definitely reward involved.

we need to get the OP to clarify on how he heard this, when he heard this, and if there's anything online that supports it.

I really like Randolph. Long, rangy, athletic with versatile skills ... can defend three positions. I think it's a great deal, depending on who the Rockets would have to give up.

    SG: Martin
    SF: Randolph
    PF: Hill
    C: Yao

I don't care who you plug in at PG... that is one longgggg, efficient lineup.

If this were to unfold (and its not even verified) then I would be looking at Wes Johnson with the pick. I really think that guy is gonna be a good player in the league. Maybe not superstar, but real good.

Remember, this is the guy who said he would trade Aaron Brooks for Alexey Shved.

why draft another SF? plus, i would never put wes johnson at SG, you might as well put trevor at SG again. if the rockets go for a guard type in the top 10, it'll have to be evan turner.

Hoya.... Saying Johnson as an SG is like Ariza at SG is something I just don't agree with.

Johnson is more talented than Ariza offensively right now. I also think Johnson could be a better rebounder and about the same on D.

I would do the deal with Cbud, though I'd rather lose Battier or Ariza.

But, I expect this is all BS. For the original poster,

I think the OP meant Marc Fein, who's a host for one of the shows on NBATV, not Marc Stein.

Greg Monroe and Anthony Randolph? Yes plz.

Or trade #6 + Hill for the 3 pick and one of Favors/Cousins to pair up with Randolph?

    Scenario 1:

    PG Brooks/Lowry
    SG Martin/Taylor
    SF Ariza/Battier
    PF Scola/Randolph/Hill
    C Yao/Monroe

    Scenario 2:

    PG Brooks/Lowry
    SG Martin/Taylor
    SF Ariza/Battier
    PF Scola/Randolph
    C Yao/Favors

Either way you cut it next year, this team is improving. Morey knows the fantasy sports adage: when you are good, trade more pieces for fewer to concentrate the talent, and when you are bad, trade fewer pieces for many to dilute the talent. There's diminishing returns on your money the greater the talent level of a single player, but as all championship contending teams can attest, it's still worth it to concentrate the talent. One of the ways we'll be doing that this year is by parlaying our picks and young prospects into proven commodities. Bank on it.

very nice. monroe's passing abilities make him a better fit than favors though, he's also more polished on the offensive end.
