You're right. The point of the seat belt is to hold you in place. It's not to prevent you from flying out. That's inclusive. The seat in front of you is not going to save your life. The seat belt will. You might get whiplash from wearing a seat belt, but it's sure better than getting a concussion from slamming head first into the seat in front of you. While it's a bit hypocritical of the state to not enforce motorcycle helmets, that does not affect as many drivers nor do I believe it to be as effective as seat belts in an accident. I guarantee it will eventually come into law, but it is not that high of a priority.
No, it wasn't. There is nothing better than the "if the government says it then don't question it" state of mind. Also, all of your examples involve the safety of people in other cars. Choosing not to wear your seat belt does not.
I would be so pissed if I had a head on collision with a person and died because they did not wear a seat belt and their body flew threw my windshield and killed me. I would have to come back and haunt their family.

I like it when cities get money from law breakers, it reduces the amount they have to raise through property taxes and fees. So, all you law breakers just keep breaking the law. More money out of your pocket and less money out of my pocket. Thank you.

This indeed is a fact. Been giving donations to HPD for years and I finally quit two years ago. I received no help after numerous times with break-ins at my business and had enough video surveillance to for them to go after the thief. I had to take matters into my own hands and fix the problem. A murder in the family and personal encounters of "I could care less attitudes" over the years I have given up any support I have in them. I now enforce my own protection.
