Computer speakers are way too loud

    I mean real loud than normal. At its lowest setting, it sounds near full blast. I could always lower it down in the system tray thing to 20 percent, but rather not.

    I have external speakers that you power on with a sliding knob, and at it's lowest, it's already loud. Help your cuz out.

    Look for a switch/check box in your mixer options that says something like "External Amplifier". If it is off, turn it on.

    If that doesn't help you'll have to monkey around with various sliders until you find which one is causing your extra amplification.

    I want it back at the original settings. That's just a temporary fix for right now.

    i'm having problems with my new speakers too. i'm getting static from them and i can't isolate the problem! i've checked the wires, but everything looks good. i don't really know what else to do.

    Yo, man thats weaksauce. I'm running 3 X 10's with a Kicker Amp for my PC sound experience.

    Straight PC Windows 7 (bootleg version).

    Most likely, you have a ground loop issue. Two obvious solutions that come to mind are:

    1) Purchase a ground loop isolator such as this one

    2) Purchase an inexpensive "cheater" plug, such as this one .
