I'm going to say this and whether anyone believes me or not, i dont care, but there are a few false trade rumors i would like to put to rest.

Carter for Mcgrady. Mcgrady having microfracture had zero with the trade not happening. Thorn wanted landry and a pick and morey walked away. This was even after it was known mcgrady was going to have the surgery. They were going to waive the physical.

Mcgrady for billups and prince. Never was ever mentioned or offered. The deal was the same as denver accepted. Nothing more, nothing less.

Battier and scola for amare. Another dinger that was never remotely considered. It was spread that houston turned it down because of a physical. That is entertainment itself. Why would houston care about a physical when scola is expiring and battier is a zero for amare who is a stud?

Like i said, many wont believe me, some will.

i don't even know why some on this board still carries the myth that tmac blocked a trade lol. if they traded for him, it was for his salary for next year. they didn't see tmac limp the entire year that year and traded for him b/c they thought he would help the team?

i really am shocked some on thsi board still holds onto this myth.

Oh man thank god the trade never happened, VC struggled not only in the Celtics series but throughout the whole playoffs.

Tracy Carter, now that's the best dunker, shooter, slasher, turn around/spot up shooter off the dribble with great passing and ball handling skills.

He was scoring champ 2x, he won the dunk contest, 17x NBA All-Star, and once scored 13 points in 35 seconds.

Dude is a beast, the best.

    Dude is a boar.

Maybe we'd get more blessings in the skyes from Yao's cracked foot.

We almost believed you till you let this gem slipped out.

Scola is a RFA so being expiring means nothing and Battier is a gem. SHAME ON YOU.

I doubt Rockets had tried to get VC. He's very overrated. Not likely a Morey-type traget.

Morey confirmed rumors that this trade almost went down live on the air after the deadline.

Like he doesnt lie about stuff. Phoenix never even considered this as an option at all. If amare walks, they can replace him with a 14m players either through trade or salary consumption.

Larsv8, i threw that in there for you and all the other battier lovers . Seriously though, it was never considered by phoenix and it had alot to do with battier and his contract. His contract would restrict what they could do if amare leaves. They make that trade and now they can obly get a 6m player and mle player. They keep amare, ride the train and he leaves, they can sign and trade him or just use his money for a near max contract.

Like he had a reason to lie about it... Why would he make up a lie about this AFTER the trade deadline?

Just use a little common sense please. I'm not trying to belittle you or others, but use common sense please.

From the phoenix side: Theyre getting a good 4 for cheap in luis and a bench player who makes almost 8m in battier for a 27 yr old, high scoring, explosive pf in amare. First off, since both teams are over the cap, you have to be within 25% in salaries. That means the rockets would have to add another 3m in salary. So now phoenix is going to give away probably their best player and lose the shot at a max player because of shane's contract for what?

From houston perspective. They're getting the best player far away. He's a dynamic, powerful player and he's 27. He could help the rockets get into the playoffs this year, but i a free agent at the end of the season. The guy has an injury history, but he's a rental maybe anyway. Why would any gm care about a physical? If amare left the team via free agency, so what anyway?

McGrady didn't get surgury to stop a trade. He got surgery because he was embarassed about his failed dunk attempt at Milwaukee. Seriously, who the hell would trade for 08-09 Tracy McGrady?

He wouldn't have passed the physical anyways, I think we got a damn good deal in Jordan Hill+Kevin Martin+draft pics, and I'm happy with that, and not complaining about Tracy McGrady.

BTW, this was not a response to the OP, but rather it was a response to all the people who think Tracy McGrady tried to "screw" the team over.
