May 30, 2010: The Islamic districts of Indonesia have decided to implement the Sharia law which bans women from wearing tight pants or dresses in public. Special police force detained women found to be dressed improperly according to the Sharia Law. The detention was carried out in the areas of West Aceh and Pasi Jambu. The found to violate the law were given 200,000 long skirts which are supposed to bring them to the right track. The garment sellers have also been instructed not to store such sexy outfits. The ban went into effect from Thursday when the police seized 18 jean clad women and handed them the long skirts instead. The shop keepers were warned of dire consequences with their licenses being revoked should they try to sell sexy garments. However, the women complained that they were being treated like terrorists and that wearing pants had made them more comfortable while travelling as motorbikes were the main form of transportation in the country. The human rights groups, on the other hand, have condemned the move and said that it violates both the international law as well as the Indonesian constitution. Although the Sharia law has been enforced on a single district so far, other parts of the country have been asked to respect it. The district is also planning to implement other more severe forms of the Sharia including stoning an adulterer to death. http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/world/sharia-law-bans-tight-pants-in-indonesia_100372388.html
Saudi money at work, ladies and gentlemen Saudi Arabia has practically converted southeast Asia into a Pakistan-lite. Well, it is not that bad yet, but it is getting there unfortunately because of all of the Saudi-financed schools being set up there over the decades. If only Al-Azhar had more money to spend overseas
Arm the women....that is the answer, give them either: A. Each and AK47 or B. A 3 lock box with no key.... Option B would force the men to crumble faster than option A.... I mean religion only goes so far, especially when it comes to matters of the nether regions.... Forcing men to lose out on that would change everything. Come on Obama, let's deliver 3 lock boxes to all of the oppressed women under these hideious laws. DD
It is better than that, they get to force the women to take the pants off and put on a skirt...... It is a man's world under Sharia law......got to arm them women..... 3 LOCK BOX....come on Obama.....send the women the aid.... Some hotties over there, show them American men care.... DD
So what is your comment? (by the way, I hope the "rep points" BetterThanEver gets do not contain the same funny comment I got from someone on my last rep: "Asswipe r****d" )
Some stupid people don't realize you can't give negative rep, and they click on the minus sign thinking they are giving neg rep.... DD
Ironically enough, there are probably a few sweatshops over there making tight pants for us as we speak.
hahahaha sorry that's funny. I promise it wasn't me, but that is funny.. Don't really have comment. It's sad, but it's no different than Saudi Arabia. Just the media knows how to use certain words that are dear to your heart (ladies+tight pants) that make you feel like something new is going on. Indonesia is doomed IMO. A buttload of poor and desperate people, but the only hand that will feed them is the terrorist hand. I expect no less.
I found it funny, too . As I said, give me more of that, please. Mathloom, how can the Muslim world stop this trend toward radicalization? Are you not concerned that more Muslim countries might go down that path? Edit: Let me add a second question: Are you not concerned that other initiatives that are funded by Saudis can strengthen such radical tendencies, even if this might not be apparent at first sight (wolf in sheep's clothing)?
Since I'm going to be in Indonesia in a few months I'm totally against this and will now join Around the World in his bashing of Islam.
