Haha, I've never seen a more pathetic suit. I guess it goes along with rest of the stupidity that exists in that state. http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2010/05/29/if-google-told-you-to-jump-off-a-cliff-would-you/
Wouldn't be surprised if reports come out that she is in need of some money or something. But then again, she is from Utah.
Every time you call up directions from Google maps it has the following at the bottom: So they did include a disclaimer to protect themselves from morons. That means this lady is either the single stupidest person in America, or someone trying (poorly) to work a scam.
Not defending the stupidity of this lawsuit, but that little clause appears to cover temporary events only (traffic is temporary, weather is temporary, projects are temporary). There doesn't appear to be any disclaimer that the map might lead you onto a road that is NEVER safe for walking under any conditions. The "signs or notices" part doesn't apply either... have you ever seen a highway with a sign next to it that says "no walking"? I hope/believe she will lose this case on account of her stupidity... but I don't think the language above protects Google at all in this case.
I don't know man, but she's giving this suit a run for its money: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=187153
for all we know who's to say she got hit by the car? Maybe she walked by a parked car and pretended to get hit and fell flailing to the floor?
Turns out this woman is Andrei Kirilenko. She flopped, and she is taking advantage of the officials who can't tell whether or not she is a woman so they rule in her favor.
