Why do NBA fans tend to "dislike" talented players?

The thing that irks me is the phenomenon that the bigger the star the more undeserved breaks he seems to get. It's not a level playing field... and you-know-who is already more talented.

 

1.He's not on our team and is killing us
2.He is a cocky b*stard
3.He plays like a p***y or is a dirty player
4.Gets preferential treatement by refs
5.Is overhyped and everyone rides their nuts
6.Why root for the popular ones? Root for the underrated and underappreciated
7.Dude is just annoying me...

I hate players because I don't like their attitude (Kobe), I think they receive undue praise (Vince), or I think the get away with thinks that make them seem better than they are (Shaq). I don't understand some peoples' hatred though. Why do people hate Tim Duncan?

 

I dont like players like John Stockton & Karl Malone because they get away with many dirty tactics and arn't called for it! Then there are players with attitude who are good but never humble,Kobe would be an current example.Some Referees have bias against some teams and certain players, they should be drummed out of our league!

 

I love the guy, but others hate him because he's a Spur.

I do hate Stockton, Nash, Tim Duncan and the rest of the spurs, Pippen, Tmac sucks too.

Guys like Grant Hill, Baron Davis, ANtonio Davis are hard guys to not like.

 

HATE KOBE.. Great player..problem he knows hes great thinks hes great and wants everyone else to think hes great..dont like him because DEMANDED to play for a top market city at the ripe age of 18.. dont like him cause in that one all star game he shot the ball like 3535968 times.... dont like him becuase people say hes just getting started and how he has soo many rings at an early age and how they IGNORE the fact that he has a guy named SHAQ helping him just a tad...
Danny Ferry.. hate that b*stard too... Thinks hes rough and tough but is only a big balding jackass...
Stockton/Malone.. cus they are on the jazz
Divac... 2nd Biggest Flopper (behind the entire jazz roster) of all Time..

Talent doesnt have much to do with my hatred.. I like guys like McGrady Duncan VC B.Davis S.Marbury AI MJ KG... these are some of the most talented guys out there and i like them.. i just cant stand the guys above cause they seem like A-holes.

You like Allen Iverson, yet hate Kobe because he's an *******? I don't see many mug shots of Kobe around because he keeps getting arrested for drug charges or domestic violence disputes...

 

Another thing that I hate about hip players, to expand on my earlier point. The fans that ride Bryant's and Jordan's (et al.) jocks will denigrate the talent of other, less hip players. Kenny Thomas sucks because he isn't as good as Garnett. We should cut Walt Williams cuz he sucks. Same with Rice, Morris, Langhi, Torres, Norris, Cato, Collier and Taylor. We should only have Francis, Mobley and Griffin on the team; everyone else should be cut cuz they suck and aren't as good as Kobe Bryant. Plus, Webber is a sissy, Divac is a flopper, Duncan is a softee, Iverson is a thug, Marbury is a ballhog and no one will ever be able to hold a candle to Shaq. Needless to say, it is hard to not form an enmity between myself and these folks; and, by extension, the objects of their affection.

 

Everybody liked "Magic" . . .and I think a lot of Rocket fans still like Sam.. .I know I do. . . .I get down on players because of their attitude. . . .and I iwould include off court as well as on court. . .I have a hard time warming up to Kidd because he is an admitted wife beater. . .and when we start looking at the off court antics of many of these so called stars. . .well. . . .they don't measure up very well as human beings. . . .On the other side of the coin there are a lot of good guys out there I root for. . .except when they play the Rockets.

 

i think you have to be stupid to not think a player is good just because you don't likethem Example you vote for a allstar game and don't vote for kobe, instead you vote for steve smith. You know good ass well he is not excting and will not make the team so they shouldn't waste their vote like that. And half the people who dislike him is bcause he killed them when we played them. I saw a thread at hoopsworld.com 6 months ago that was title why you hate kobe. It got 860 replies. 14 16 pages or something. And i started a thread saying that why you hate kobe cause you wish he played for you. And i stated that people dislike him cause he kills them in the game and laughs in your face and makes you look bad thats why.
